Locate name or confirmation # and proceed to designated campsite. Register in the morning at the kiosk before 9:00 a.m. Check In Time Any time after 2:00 p.m.
2 Check Out Time Before 11:00 a.m. Quiet Hours 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Maximum Length of Stay 14 nights Maximum Persons per Site 6 people Maximum Vehicles per Site 2 (e.g. one camping unit and one regular vehicle). We do not permit 2 camping vehicles on the same campsite. Maximum Camping Units per Site Max 2 tents or 1 RV/camper and 1 tent Generator Policy Allowed: 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. daily Amperage of Power Service Fire Policy amp service Electricity (serviced) Tunnel Mountain Village I: Campfires allowed in designated firepits only. A fire permit is required: $8.80 per day (included in the price of all sites with firepits). Fire wood is available at the campground woodpile. Fire Ban in effect 11:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m. Tunnel Mountain Village II : Firepits are for walk in tent section and select electrical sites only. Fireboxes are also in kitchen shelters. Fire permit required: designated firepits only. A fire permit is required: $8.80 per day (included in the price of all sites with firepits). Firewood is available at the campground wood pile. Fire Ban in effect 11:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m. All campsites with firepits have the $8.80 fire permit included in the nightly camping fees, and this is indicated in the service type description
3 Alcohol Ban Alcohol consumption is prohibited nightly during quiet hours (11PM-7AM) AND there is a complete alcohol ban for all long weekends. Pet Policies Pets must be kept under control and on a leash at all times. They must not be left unattended. Please keep all pet food stored inside. See Bare Campsite Program brochure upon arrival for more information. Location Tunnel Mountain Village I campground is located within 8 kilometres of the Banff town site. Tunnel Mountain Village II campground is located within 5 kilometres of the Banff town site. Coming from the East on the Trans Canada Highway: Take the first exit into Banff. Stay in the left lane. Turn left at the stop sign - stay in the left lane for 1 KM - turn left on Tunnel Mountain Road at Rocky Mountain Resort travel KM to Tunnel Mountain Village I - to enter turn right - stay in the left lane to register KM to Tunnel Mountain Village II and Trailer Court - to enter turn right - stay in the left lane to register Coming from the West on the Trans Canada Highway: Take the third exit into Banff. Merge to the right - stay in the left lane for 1 KM - turn left on Tunnel Mountain Road at Rocky Mountain Resort travel KM to Tunnel Mountain Village I - to enter turn right - stay in the left lane to register KM to Tunnel Mountain Village II and Trailer Court - to enter turn right - stay in the left lane to register GPS Coordinates Tunnel Mountain Campgrounds Latitude: Longitude: Street Address: Tunnel Mountain Drive Campground description Tunnel Mountain Village I: (600 sites, 425 reservable) All unserviced, with OR without firepit. Fire and non-fire sections are separated. Washrooms with hot/cold running water, showers and flush toilets. Accessible washroom facilities. Accessible sites available on request. Access to nearby hiking trails. A dumping station and communal water taps are available in this campground.
4 Tunnel Mountain Village II : (209 sites, 146 reservable) Electricity with firepit (37 Sites) Electricity without firepit (151 sites) Unserviced/ Walk in, with firepit (21 sites) Washrooms with hot/cold running water, shower building and flush toilets. Accessible washroom facilities available. Accessible sites available on request. Camp shelters with tables and fire boxes. The walk-in campsites are located in the D section of the campground and are approximately a 5 to 25 metre walk from the parking area. A dumping station and communal water taps are available in this campground. Alternative Reservable Accommodations No alternative accommodations Internet Access There is no Wi-Fi access at Tunnel Mountain. There are a number of Internet Cafes located 2 kilometres from the campground in the Town of Banff. Fees For information regarding camping fees for Banff National Park please see our Fees page. If There is No Vacancy for Your Dates Upon arrival, visitors may try to obtain a campsite at one of the following first-come, firstserved campsites: Two Jack Main, Two Jack Lakeside, Johnston Canyon or Castle Mountain. Tunnel Mountain Village I, Tunnel Mountain Village II and Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court also offer first-come, first-served sites. Require Additional Information? Campground reservation service (1-877-RESERVE) (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local park time) or General park information (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, March to October, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time, November to February) or banff.vrc@pc.gc.ca For information and reservations specifically for backcountry camping
5 For information and reservations for group camping. Located only at Two Jack Main campground - 12 km from Banff townsite. Minimum group size is five (5) sites and 20 people. Flush toilets, no showers available (8:00AM 4:30PM, Mon - Thurs) Terms & Definitions Non-site specific Campground where your particular campsite is assigned to you. In contrast to a site-specific campground, where you are asked to choose your specific campsite. Reservable nights Period in which the campground accepts reservations. Note that many campgrounds may be open longer than this, and would operate outside of these dates on a first-come, first-served basis. Operational dates (nights) Nights in which the campground is open to the public for overnight camping. This may be the same as the reservable dates, or it may be longer, and would operate outside of these dates on a first-come, first-served basis. Kiosk The administration booth of a particular campground, this is where you check-in and register your arrival. Vehicle Car, truck, camper, tent-trailer, motorhome, or recreational vehicle. A motorhome pulling another vehicle would count as two vehicles. Camping Unit Tent, tent-trailer, truck-camper, motorhome or recreational vehicle. Serviced site Campsite offering electrical hook-ups on site. Fully-serviced sites offer electrical, potable water and sewer hook-ups. Unserviced sites do not offer these hook-ups. The terms serviced and unserviced do not refer to the washroom facilities or other amenities available at the campground. Drive-through site
6 Campsite where the driver does not have to reverse their vehicle to exit. Ideal for larger vehicles and trailers. Walk-in site Campsite which requires some degree of walking to access the site, and therefore requires a tent. Vehicle will be parked some distance away. Overflow site Overflow campsites vary from park to park, and may range from a paved area to park a camping unit (not generally suitable for tents) to a more traditional, grassy site. They are unserviced. Accessible site Campsite which is accessible to wheelchairs. Firepit Designated ring for campfires at a campsite. In some cases, firepits may be communal, and access is shared among the campground. Check availability, as not all campsites offer a firepit. In some parks, a permit is required to have a fire. First-come, first-served site Campsites that are available only to individuals present at the campground. These sites cannot be reserved or registered over the telephone. In most cases, individuals registering for these sites may request them for multiple nights. Shoulder season While many campgrounds remain open outside of their peak season, the services offered during this period may be limited. Day Pass An entry pass is required for all visitors to the park. A day pass permits visitors access to Banff, Jasper, Kootenay & Yoho during its period of validity. Annual/Seasonal Pass An entry pass is required for all visitors to the park. An annual or seasonal pass permits visitors unlimited access to the specified park for the period of time indicated. National Pass An entry pass is required for all visitors to the park. A national pass permits visitors unlimited access to 27 of Canada's national parks for a period of 12 months. Date Modified
