2 WHAT IS IMINOX? The Mexican Institute of Stainless, IMINOX, is a private non-profit association formed by a group of comapnies that prodeuce, distribute and transform stainless in Mexico. IMINOX develops activities to support current and potential stainless steel users. Although IMINOX office is located in San Luis Potosi, its activities are carried out in any city of Mexico. MISSION IMINOX mission is to promote and develop the stainless steel consumption in Mexico through continuing education, technical support and promotion of it, directing and coordinating the efforts of producers, distributors, transformers and end users.

5 Objetives: STAINLESS STEEL FOR INDUSTRIAL To provide the participant with basic knowledge on Stainless Steel and learn how to handle the material: polishing it, transforming it and welding it to develop applications in a practical manner. Encourage students to use stainless steel in academic and professional projects. Targeted to: Students of Industrial Design career. Duration: 14 hours divided in 6 hours for theory and 8 hours for practices. (The duration could be changed according to the scope desired by the university) Requirements to obtain certificate of participation: Attendance at all and each of the sessions and workshops. Submission of the final project.

Theory session Transformation Processes (2 hrs.) 3. Theory session Design, Business Presentations and Stainless Steel Applications (2 hrs.) 4. Practical Workshop on Welding (1 hr. Theory, 3 hrs. Practices) 5. Demonstration Workshop on Surface Finishes (1 hr. Theory, 3 hrs. Practices) 6. Presentation and submittal of the Project New Application of Stainless Steel" and participation certificates awarding to students.

Approach of situation to solve (1 page max.) Need intended to satisfy Target audience intended to satisfy Current Products intending to replace and advantages over them (1 page max.) Description of the new application: Materials, manufacturing processes, operation and characteristics. (2 pages max.) Photographs in electronic format (digital) or other audiovisual support material. 10 UNIVERSITY COMMITMENTS: STAINLESS STEEL FOR INDUSTRIAL Incorporate the seminar as part of the participants' curricular agenda. Assign a coordinator to manage the resources required for the seminar development. Inform participants of the meetings' dates and places. Ensuring a number of 20 participants per seminar. Provide classroom for theory sessions and a workshop for practices. Projector, flipcharts and markers. Basic safety equipment for welding and finishes workshops (welding masks, gloves, goggles, overalls, pliers). Gas tank for welding workshop. Control and support to ensure attendance and final project submission.
11 STAINLESS STEEL FOR INDUSTRIAL IMINOX's COMMITMENTS : Provide written material for the theory sessions. Provide stainless steel plates for welding and finishes workshops. Provide welding machines and polishers, if necessary. Assign instructors. Technical support by telephone and/or for the final project. Participation certification to students who have met attendance and final project submission.
