Here it is possible to live out all of the stories, which have been added over the last 0 years in the old part of the village (Hinterdorf) or during guided village tours. Among them, those of some of the first climbers of the Matterhorn from July. The Grave of the Unknown Climber honours the more than 00 missing and dead, who have lost their lives on the Matterhorn since. What is called the Walk of Fame in Hollywood is called the Walk of Climb in Zermatt. On the Bahnhofstrasse near the church, nine bronze markers honour the alpinists, who conquered the Matterhorn in July.
