3 Purpose To promote camaraderie among vintage aircraft enthusiast. ACE Transmitters invited This is the fifth year the KBVF encompasses a new venue. Since ACE RC sold out to Thunder Tiger the RC world lost an innovative resource. ACE produced many different products during their tenure from the 1953 to approximately The KBVF this year is inviting anyone with an ACE transmitter to come fly with us. The transmitter is any transmitter produced by the original ACE company up through and including the ACE MicroPro8000. Additionally, any MicroStar2000 is also included regardless of the case used to house the electronics. Modified ACE transmitters are included regardless of the electronics in the ACE case. Additionally, any transmitter produced by ACE in complete or kitted form qualifies. If ACE electronics are used in any non ACE case, it qualifies. The ACE controlled aircraft does not have to be a vintage aircraft. Any SAMs aircraft are invited to attend. SAMs planes included Dates The dates this year, May 25 & 26 are a Friday and Saturday. Headquarters Motel There will not be a preferred motel and no blocked rooms. Most attendees have stayed at the Sleep Inn. Be sure to ask for AAA, AARP discounts etc. These will probably give you the same rate as blocked rooms would anyway. See the motel list in this document. GPS coordinates of places of interest. Bob Evans at I75 exit :00AM Sign in at LMAC field 9:00AM Pilot Meeting Friday 9:00AM-4:00PM General VRCS Flying 2:00PM Voting for Best Model and Technical Achievement 4:00PM End of general meet but flying continues until dark 6:30PM Banquet... Will be announced at the fly in. Saturday 8:00AM to 3:00 PM Fly anything including current and vintage. A chance to answer questions from the newer current model fliers on VRCS and our models. Note: No Concours competition and no pattern competition. These are replaced by a best model award. Special Landfill note If a plane should happen to go down in the land fill, notify the CD and he will help with the retrieval. Under no circumstances cross any fence to the land fill. 5 Award Plaques Being Presented For this Event NOTE: All Awards Will Be Voted On By The Participants. Voting Will Take Place On Thursday. Technical Achievement : Presented to the individual who demonstrates the dedication to the Vintage RC Society spirit such as reconditioning/restoring a period radio system or design to operate again. This can also cover period engines and finishing techniques Best Model: Presented to the owner of the model that has been chosen to represent the best overall vintage model which can include construction, finish and radio system. 6 Landing Fees Covers 2 Days Of Flying!! FEE: Donation only For Vintage RC Society Member. NON- VRCS MEMBERS: Donation or joining the VRCS at this meet. LMAC members that fly a vintage plane in the event do not pay any landing fee. AMA membership is required of all fliers. Runway specifications One paved runway 650' x 50' One turf runway parallel to the paved runway 650' x 60' Crosswind turf runway that crosses the paved runway 350' x 60' Friday lunch The lunch on Friday will be available at the field for a fee. Either hamburgers and hot dogs will be grilled or a carry out from a local restaurant will be done by a club member. Water will be available for Friday and Saturday. 7 Maps to LMAC field From the I75 exit 108 or exit 110 take I75 North to the southern split and take I64 East to exit 87. Turn left at the top of the ramp, cross the bridge and turn right onto Rockwell road. Proceed down Rockwell for about a mile and turn left on Hedger Lane at the land fill signs. About a mile you will turn right in to the field road which is marked. A short 12 minute drive. N 38º W 84º are the coordinates. Last change 1/29/18 Page 7

9 General map for KBVF Short cut to field from the I75 Exit 108 and 110. From the Hamburg area you can take Man-O-War and cross over I75 and continue until it dead ends into Route 60, 1.6 miles. Turn right and go 3 miles to Route is also marked with a sign that says Land Fill. Turn left onto 859 and continue for 1.6 miles, cross the I64 bridge, exit 87, and turn right onto Rockwell road. Proceed down Rockwell for about a mile and turn left on Hedger Lane at the land fill signs. About a mile you will turn right in to the field road which is marked. N 38º W 84º are the coordinates.
