13 Hello Southland Coaches: 2018 UIW Track & Field Invitationals The UIW Track and Field program is hosting two invitationals during the spring 2018 season. Both meets will provide opportunities for you to bring your team to San Antonio and familiarize yourself with Tom Benson Track and Field stadium. Our first meet, the UIW Spring Break Invitational will be March We purposefully limit this meet to 4-5 teams to kick off the outdoor season with a small, fast running meet. Our second meet, the UIW Invitational will be April 6-7. This will be a larger meet, capped at roughly 10 schools. Both meets will follow a similar schedule with three throwing events (Hammer, Shot and Javelin), two jumping events (long jump and pole vault) and an evening distance carnival the first day. The second day kicks off in the morning with the remaining field events and a short prime-time sprint section in the early afternoon. If you re interested in attending either of our meets, please meet director Rosemary DuPree (rdupree@uiwtx.edu) to reserve your team s spot.
