The Association will also pick up the cost of their hotel rooms and the Somers Group Dinner. AIRPORT: Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR). Taxi fare from the airport to the hotel is approximately $ There are 2 LaQuinta Hotels in Myrtle Beach. Be sure you advise the taxi driver you are going to "LaQuinta at Broadway". Reservations should be made to arrive on Sunday, April 30th with departure on Thursday, May 4th...unless, of course, you're arriving early and/or extending your stay. ROOM COSTS: The group room rate is $82.00 per night + tax (12%) = $91.84 per night. If you plan on arriving a day early, on Saturday and/or extending your stay to Thursday night, the group rate will cover those days as well. The rates are also good for up to 4 people per room. Be advised that not all rooms are set up to accommodate 4 people. Check with the reservation folks. The hotel will provide FREE Continental Breakfast daily that will include waffles, hot & cold cereals, pastries, juice, milk and coffee. They also provide FREE high speed internet, in-room hair dryer, coffee maker, iron & ironing board. Television with premium channels, movies & video games, guest laundry facilities and an outdoor pool. Room Reservations must be made prior to April 7, STANDARD ROOM UPGRADE TO A SUITE: Suites are $ % tax ($14.88) = $ Limited suites available. PET FRIENDLY HOTEL: LaQuinta is a pet friendly hotel. Check with reservations on number of pets allowed and if there are any size and/or breed restrictions. PARKING: Vehicle parking is available and complimentary at the hotel site. REUNION REGISTRATION FEES: The reunion registration fees are non-refundable and remain at $20.00 per person. Registration Fees for Life Members & their spouses of the Association are waived.

WEATHER: Weather during our stay in Myrtle Beach will be in the 80's. HOSPITALITY ROOM: The Association will have a Hospitality Room just off the main lobby in the hotel. BYOB has been approved by the hotel. The Association will set up the room with Beer, Liquor, Wine, Soft Drinks, Ice, Plates, Cups Napkins and Snacks. MEETINGS: The Informational Meeting scheduled for Monday, May 1st, from 9:00am to 10:00am and the Annual Association Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 2nd from 9:00am to 11:30am will be held at Capt. George's Seafood Restaurant. Everyone is asked to "use the side entrance near the fountain" for the meetings. SCHEDULED EVENTS: We have scheduled two (2) live events at the Carolina Opry. The cost for these 2 events are $31.00 for each show per person or $52.00 per person for both shows. The events are as follows: Monday, May 1st at 7:00 PM "Time Warp" and on Tuesday, May 2nd, also at 7:00 PM "The Carolina Opry (TCO)". Both shows may be purchased for $52.00 per person. Our final event will be the Somers Group Dinner on Wednesday, May 3rd from 6:00 PM 9:30 PM at Capt. George's Seafood Restaurant. A seafood buffet that will also serve prime rib, chicken and BBQ ribs along with a variety of soups, salads, desserts and other items. The cost for the dinner is $43.00 per person. Final head counts must be in to the event coordinators no later than March 31, The Norfolk Special on the menu is a seafood dish with scallops if you were wondering.

When calling to reserve your scooter, provide the group code: USS SOMERS. Prices range from $35-$45 per day or $175-$225 for a 5 day week. If 4 or more scooters are rented the weekly rate will be discounted to $150 (light duty scooter) and $175 (heavy duty scooter) for Sunday through Thursday inclusive.
