Industry thought leader Bill Geist will lead an interactive half-day workshop in which he ll challenge old school views of Destination Marketing, share success stories from across North America and engage members in provocative conversation about our future. He ll share his views on Productivity Measures, the double-edged sword of Membership and Partnership programs, diversifying funding streams and much more. We are at the advent of Destination Marketing v3.0. This session includes a comprehensive workshop which will help you make sure your organization is ready.

3 Who Are Your Visitors? Where Are They From? How to Attract More... Vicki Allen of VISIT FLORIDA will provide a detailed report on the completely new and updated visitor profile study. This report reveals key decision making drivers, habits and other insights which will aide all of your destination marketing efforts. Your Social Media Sites and the Public Records Ticking Time Bomb Did you know all of your social media sites are subject to public records requests? Under public records law, if a user posts something to your page and then choses to delete it, you are required to archive that post. Social media sites were created without any regard to Florida s public records laws. While these sites are excellent ways to communicate with potential visitors public records laws impose a much higher requirement on DMOs beyond the capacity (or interests) of the sites themselves. This session will outline what DMOs are doing today to address this issue including a briefing on a couple potential software vendors who are being tested by a couple DMOs now. State of the State Forum A review of what s going on around the state and the issues impacting DMOs within their communities. This program will give you essential insights into what s happening in communities throughout Florida and will help to identify new trends. Destination Marketing Industry Discussion This session is dedicated to bringing the industry together, briefing you on several important issues, getting your input and building a consensus. We will address the following: Update on VISIT FLORIDA s marketing plans and an outlook of their budget for next year Protecting the current uses of Tourist Development Taxes Update on lawsuits and legislation related to Internet retailers throughout Florida Federal legislation that would provide federal tourism marketing grants to local DMOs
