New York offers more entertainment, cultural activities and sensory stimulation per second than almost anywhere on Earth. The Sights: There are so many famous sights in New York it is hard to know where to begin. If you want to do the tourist thing, you can enjoy the many sights such as the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Fifth Avenue shops and Central Park... If culture is what you are after, spend fruitful hours in the Metropolitan Museum or the Guggenheim. If you feel like catching the inimitable atmosphere of New York take a morning stroll in Central Park or run hand in hand across the Brooklyn Bridge. But, the very best thing to do in New York is simply walk. Every few blocks, the neighborhood changes. One minute you can be in Italy and the next you re in China, Korea or India! There are shops and bargains everywhere street fairs and flea markets street corner vendors. There are neighborhood bars, sports bars (with big screen TVs), coffee houses and pastry shops on nearly every block. (OP) indicates an optional extra for which a charge will be made in advance. Day 1 Late afternoon - Coach transfer from Airport to Hotel. Evening Welcome drink and Overview of the Holiday. Later - Salsa Party (OP) at the world famous NY Salsa Club Copacabana. Day 2 (Thanksgiving) Morning Wander around town and visit Central Park where you can enjoy a walking tour provided by park rangers for free where they explain to you the extraordinary story of this beautiful park! Afternoon - Salsa classes (2 hours for each level) with Eddie Torres. Evening - Debut of a New Musical Latin Comedy "Peloqueria" (OP). Or salsa-ing ing in one of the top New York Salsa clubs. Day 3 Morning and Afternoon (OP) NY/NJ Salsa Festival workshops. Or sighteseeing suggestion: Metropolitan Museum; Visit one of the biggest and most famous art museums in the world! Go to a salad bar and experience real New York life! Evening - Salsa Cruise around the tip of Manhattan (OP)

Late afternoon Coach departs hotel for Airport Nightlife Included in your holiday is entrance to three NY/NJ Salsa Festival parties (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). You will be stunned at the high level of the dancers attending this Salsa Festival. Your Teachers Eddie & Maria Torres: Included in your holiday will be 4 hours 'on the 2' Salsa/Mambo tuition with Maria Torres ('on the 2' Beginners) and Eddie Torres ('on the 2' Intermediates). The tuition will will take place on Monday and Tuesday after the New York Salsa Congress. We will be joining Eddie and Maria's local classes at local dance studios thus allowing you to mix with the New York Salseros. Experienced 'on the 1' dancers who are new to 'on the 2' Salsa will highly enjoy these stimulating and challenging classes - we would recommend you take the Beginners 'on the 2' Salsa level with Maria. Those who already dance 'on the 2' will be able to enjoy Eddie's Intermediates class. Beginners: Since the Eddie and Maria's workshops cater mostly for Elementary, Intermediates and Advanced dancers. We recommend that Complete Beginners and Beginners take some Salsa classes before they go to get up to Elementary standard in order to ensure that they can fully make the most the workshops. Food and Meals International cuisine: New York is famous for its bustling breakfast and lunch venues: diners, delis, bagel shops, sandwich bars, pizza joints and other eateries. Great food can be had at almost any time of day. This is America so the choices are enormous - Tex-Mex, Chinese, Indian, Spanish, Mexican, Japanese, Thai etc. Vegetarians and others with special requirements are nearly always well catered for. Tax and tipping: It is worth remembering that to the advertised cost of all meals, clothes etc will be added an additional tax (8.5%). New York culture dictates that an 18% tip should be left at all meals and on the purchasing of drinks in some bars. You will need to account for this in your preparation budgeting. Transfers: We are normally able to meet you at the airport and take you by private transfer at no additional charge to

4 your hotel. Sometimes you may have to wait a short while at the airport to connect with this transfer. Occasionally depending on your arrival time there may not be a group transfer available and we may ask you to make your own way to the hotel by taxi or public transport. In these circumstances we would give you easy to follow instructions. Making you own way to the hotel for Making Your Own Way to your Hotel: For those whose flights don't coincide with our Airport coach transfer, we ground only recommend that you take a taxi from the Airport to the Hotel. package What to Expect in terms of Organisation Independence during your holiday and free time: You are fully independent on this holiday. Although your holiday is carefully organized and coordinated, we believe our guests do not like to be over-organised. So we give you quality information with all the addresses of where there are dance activities. You can decide for yourself if and when you want to turn up. We encourage you to explore New York during your stay. This can be done when you please around the dance classes and dancing at night. Club Dance Holidays Host: Your holiday tour host is there to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible. Budgeting for your holiday: Here are some guidelines on prices, to help you do your own calculations. Health and Fitness: There are no particular health requirements for a dance holiday. However you should be able to dance for at least two hours a day in order to be able to enjoy the dance classes and dancing at night. Insurance, Visa and Passport Requirements: Refer to the brochure for full details. In brief, Insurance is a condition of booking. Visas may be required for non EU citizens. British nationals need a full passport to travel to USA. Travel Documents: You receive these when you have paid for your holiday in full and we have received your airline tickets. In some cases the airlines do not release the tickets until five days before the departure date. We also confirm the address and phone number of the hotel and the emergency contact numbers. What to wear for dancing: The dance floors are varied. We recommend that you bring shoes with a rubber sole as the floors sometimes may be somewhat fast. Your shoes should be comfortable and supportive. We recommend dance trainers such as Blochs. Wear lightweight cotton socks to avoid sweaty and blistered feet! It is probable that you may get through quite a few clothes in the workshops and dancing at night (you can get quite hot!) so bring a

5 variety of outfits. Wear comfortable, loose clothing for the classes. At Your Destination Banks and Money: The easiest way to buy obtain dollars is by using a credit card at one of the cash points in the street banks. You can buy small amounts, as often as you like, at any time, without queuing. You will need to know your P.I.N. Cash points are very easy to use and of course speak English. Banks will change cash, travellers cheques and will sell you currency on your credit card providing the lines to Britain are open. You will always need to show your passport at a bank. Sales Tax: It is worth remembering that on to the advertised cost of all meals, clothes etc, will be added an additional tax (8.5%). Tipping: Tipping is a way of life in New York. You will need to account for this in your preparation budgeting. Minimum age drinking: Minimum age for drinking (and sometimes for entrance to clubs) in the US is 21 years old. You should carry ID with you when you go out at night. Sometimes doormen in Miami can be particular about letting people into clubs and will demand identification. Making friends with the Locals and people not on the holiday: If you make friends with a local and would like them to come along to the activities organised by us, then just ask your Tour Host and except for the dance classes and provided they pay their way there should not be a problem. We are here after all to interact with the locals. Generally, however, we discourage British people who are not on the holiday from coming out with us or joining the activities and we ask for your discretion is this respect.
