Your Destination, includes sightseeing Albufeira in the central Algarve region of Portugal, attracts thousands of visitors every year and it's easy to understand why! There is Albufeira old town with it's pretty cobbled streets lined with restaurants, bars, cafes and shops; the lively nightlife in Sao Joao; Albufeira marina with it's sugar candy coloured apartments and last but not least the lovely, sandy beaches. Albufeira is perfect for families, couples and singles of all ages and is central for all the tourist attractions, with the added bonus of a short transfer from Faro airport. Albufeira is spread out rather than high-rise. The town itself consists of "old" and "new" sections which merge seamlessly into an extensive holiday-land suburbia, spreading off back east along the coast to Balaia, Olhos d'agua and Falesia, and west to Sao Rafael, Galo and the links golf course at Salgados. The whole area, greater Albufeira you could call it, is the most tourist-intensive place in Portugal. It has very little to do with the real Portugal, or with the real planet earth for that matter, but people come here in droves and have the time of their lives. Some of the old charm is still there, and it is to be found in the labyrinth of narrow streets, lined with whitewashed houses, apartments, cafes and shops, which lead down the hillside to a central square, Largo Eng. 2 The square is a good place to sit and watch the world go by. Nearby, next to the tourist information office, a tunnel at the end of a pedestrian-only mall leads on to the town's main beach. "New" Albufeira, centred on Areias de Sao Joao, is on the east side. Its most famous thoroughfare is affectionately known as The Strip. It stretches from the looming edifice of themontechoro Hotel, past scores of cafes, restaurants and bars, all the way down to a big busy beach called Praia da Oura. The Strip and nearby streets are a hive of activity from mid-morning, when cheap English breakfasts are served to help with the hangovers caused by imbibing into the wee hours the night before. To help you enjoy your stay we would like to share some of our client's favourite places to dine - Bistro - a small hidden gem in The Old Town. You will have to book in advance for this little place but it is worth it. The menu choice is small but the food is divine. Villa Joya - a resort boasting some of the most exceptional views of the bay. The restaurant offers a wonderful ambience and a highly recommended set lunch menu. Your experience is full of small surprises and again we would advise to book in advance Castelo do Mar Bar - a beautiful restaurant with exceptional views of the coastline and Marina. If you just fancy a drink or a beautiful lunch, this venue is perfect. it's a real experience that you will be glad to have included during your stay. Restaurant O Manjar - Voted to be one of the best restaurants in Albuferia. You can't reserve a table here but if you pop down and they don't have a table available you can pop to the bar across the square and enjoy a drink and the waiter will come to get you once your table is ready. The food and service are traditional and highly thought of by locals and tourists. If you are looking for traditional, local food then this is a great choice. Shalom II - Apparently this restaurant offers the best ribs you can buy. If you are looking for pizzas, pastas, steak, ribs and comfort food this restaurant is highly thought of. There are two outdoor swimming pools (one for children), eight tennis courts, two squash courts and two football grounds as well as a recently opened health club and gymnasium. Nearby there are golf courses, horse riding centres, a diving school and sailing facilities and the hotel offers a shuttle bus service to the lively town of Albuferia (just 3km away) as well as to the nearest beach, Praia de Oura, every 30 minutes. Dining options include a large restaurant serving international cuisine, a panoramic grill room on the tenth floor with excellent views of the surrounding countryside and coastline, two bars and a coffee-shop. All the dancing takes place in a large private room on the ground floor with lots of natural light and a wooden floor. All rooms are ensuite and have air conditioning, satellite tv, safety box and telephone. There are no tea and coffee making facilities, but there is twenty four hour room service or you can take a drink in one of the bars or in the hotel coffee shop. Classes and Workshops Your Ceroc course is ten hours long: Two hours a day over five days. DAY 4 Transfer to Airport Nightlife In the evenings, from about 8pm we will enjoy Ceroc freestyle sessions within the hotel. Your Teachers Dance Holidays works with Ceroc Enterprises who provide their most experienced and charismatic teachers and demonstrators. All Ceroc teachers are required to pass several demanding training workshops in order to qualify as teachers of the Ceroc Teachers Association. Their qualifications ensure that you receive quality tuition on your dance holiday. Food and Meals Beach restaurants: Albufeira offers a wide choice of restaurants offering many different types of cuisine - traditional Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Argentinian, Colombian etc. There are some fantastic seafood restaurants and great restaurants located on the beach where you can have something to eat or drink, walk across the sand and go for a swim! Social Dinners: Eating together on a dance holiday is a convivial and entertaining way to eat and an important part of any holiday. We recommend it and we know from experience that those people who join in the meals have a more enjoyable holiday. Independence within the social activities: Although your holiday is fully hosted, we believe our guests do not like to be over-organised. So we give you quality information and an itinerary including a map and all the addresses of where we have organised social and dancing activities. You can decide for yourself if and when you want to turn up. You are fully independent on these holidays. If you are travelling on your own the tour host will be at all the meeting points on the itinerary and there is always company and normally the chance say to share a taxi back the hotel.

Overview of the Week and Welcome Drink: At the beginning of your holiday there is an Overview of the Week where your tour host will tell you about all details of your holiday, and Dance Holidays will invite you to be our guest to a drink. Getting Around: You are responsible for making your own way to the dance classes and meeting points on the itinerary. We will point out those times when it is sensible to take a taxi. Before Your Go. Budgeting for your holiday: Here are some guidelines on prices, to help you do your own calculations. However you should be able to dance for at least two hours a day in order to be able to enjoy the dance classes. Insurance, Visa and Passport Requirements: In brief, Insurance is a condition of booking. You must check with your local embassy regarding Visa and passport requirements. British nationals need a full passport to travel to Spain. Travel Documents: You receive these when you have paid for your holiday in full and we have received your airline tickets. In some cases the airlines do not release the tickets until five days before the departure date. We also confirm the address and phone number of the hotel and the emergency contact numbers. What to wear for dancing: We recommend that you bring shoes with a leather sole for the dance classes. You may also be wise to bring shoes with a rubber sole as the floors in the evenings might be somewhat fast and they will give you an alternative. Your shoes should be comfortable and supportive. Wear lightweight cotton socks to avoid sweaty and blistered feet! It is probable that you may get through quite a few clothes in the classes and dancing at night (you can get quite hot!) so bring a variety of outfits. Wear comfortable loose clothing for the classes. The clubs in Las Palmas are quite informal - its common for women and men to wear jeans. Shorts are not allowed. At Your Destination Banks and Money: The easiest way to buy obtain euros is by using a credit card at cash points. You can buy small amounts, as often as you like, at any time, without queuing. You will need to know your P.I.N. Cash points are very easy to use and speak English. Bank opening hours are normally 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Banks will change cash, travellers cheques and will sell you currency on your credit card providing the lines to Britain are open. You will always need to show your passport at a bank. Tipping: is less common in Portugal than in Britain. There is no need to tip taxis. Leaving one euro for a nice meal is sufficient. Generally, we discourage British people who are not on the

5 holiday from joining our activities and we ask for your discretion is this respect. By all means, outside of the itinerary, do mix with other holidaymakers staying in the hotel.
