Further Information This retreat / workshop experience will be held in the Santuari de Lluc, a unique and beautifully situated monastery. It is located in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains (UNESCO World Heritage status), offering an oasis of peace and quiet. As we described in the poster, many of life s challenges at times seem Impossible, and this special retreat is all about making MORE possible for you and for your life. The process will help free you from limitations and build and strengthen your self-belief and self-trust. Very often, unexpected things happen in life that throw us off balance, leaving us feeling wobbled, shattered or even in shock. We find ourselves saying things like 'I need to pull myself together' or 'I just need to lie down in a dark room'', 'I'm all over the place' or 'I've had enough': these are signs that life has become too much and is affecting us mentally, emotionally, physically or spiritually. When this happens we automatically go into survival mode. We muddle through and we try our best, but we do feel the pressure and stress of it all. We often feel helpless and don't know what to do, and without meaning to we over-ride what we're really feeling, or we somehow try to convince ourselves and others that we are okay. We can feel anxious, nervous or stressed or may feel like we're performing or pretending. The reality is we feel a lack of peace and ease within ourselves. This becomes our new 'normal', but it doesn't feel good. We have created this retreat so that participants can build a more solid foundation of inner safety, security and self-trust. This strengthens our self-certainty and makes us better equipped to deal with life's difficulties when they come at us and when life feels 'impossible' for us. The challenges of life are inevitable, and as the famous saying goes 'What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger", but without having a solid internal foundation to deal with the unexpected, those challenges weaken us and can significantly affect our health and happiness, or our ability to be at our optimum.
As we are working with the uniqueness of the group, we are obviously not providing a programme, a schedule or a plan. We will use a variety of approaches and processes that will involve all aspects of our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual selves. Part of the power of this retreat experience is to work with what emerges, in order to support each individual in the best way possible.
Other Logistical Info Below is some logistical information that may help you in making travel and accommodation arrangements for the I MPOSSIBLE retreat in Mallorca, 3-8 th November Times We plan to start at 4pm on Tuesday 3rd November, and finish for 4pm on Sunday 8th November. Please plan your flights to fit with this as closely as possible. You will have full-board accommodation and meals throughout this time as part of the retreat cost. If you need it, extra nights can be booked at the Santuari de Lluc yourself by contacting them at (for example for the night of the 2nd or 8th November). Venue, Santuari de Lluc For further information about the Santuari de Lluc, the venue for our retreat, see It is a special place in a stunning location. There is plenty of accommodation and we will use a large room there to work in as a group, as well as going out into the surrounding area. There is a restaurant on site and we will be staying on a full-board basis with all meals included. There are no shops within easy reach as we are up in the mountains, so although there are a couple of cafes around the site, we suggest you bring everything you need for the six days, including any snacks or other special 'consumables' you may want. There is a computer room at the venue should you need this, and also areas with mobile reception and wifi. Flights to Palma, Mallorca The nearest (and only) airport in Mallorca is Palma. There are daily flights there with budget airlines from various European cities. A great place to check flight options is at for any route, from any country to Palma Mallorca. It may help you to know that there are daily flights from the UK and multiple daily flights from Barcelona and Madrid, all with budget airlines. From the UK: Daily from London Gatwick (Easyjet) and from London Stansted (Ryanair), and seasonally from other regional airports in the UK (check Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh). Transfers to Santuari de Lluc A private taxi transfer will take approximately 45 minutes and should costs in the region of 65 one-way. If you would like this option, we can
organise something that you may be able to share with other retreat participants to keep the transfer cost down. There is also a local bus service that requires changing in Palma (bus from the airport to central Palma Plaza de España travel centre), and then bus to LLuc (via Inca). Check out the timetable (in English) at for more info. The airport bus has a ramp and the other buses usually have lifts at the rear of the bus should anyone need access. Another option is to hire a car, which in winter is very cheap. GoldCar and RecordGo are both car hire companies located at the airport with very cheap rates in winter. Try or to see a range of options (but be warned if hiring to watch our for expensive fuel charges unless you plan on doing a lot of driving, it is usually cheaper to hire on a full to full tank of fuel basis to avoid being charged expensive rates for fuel by the car hire company. Climate in November The climate in November is quite unpredictable! It could be sunshine and blue skies everyday, and equally there could be rain or even snow in the mountains (very rare!). Typical temperatures in November vary between 12 and 19 degrees celcius, with an average around 15 degrees. For more information see or What to bring With the above climate in mind, we suggest you bring a warm jacket that might be suitable for colder mountain weather, and waterproof clothing as we will be spending some time outside. We will of course try our best to schedule our outdoor time to coincide with better weather! You should also bring suitable outdoor footwear for walking, including a spare pair of outdoor shoes that may get wet. We suggest you also bring a hat and gloves in case it is unusually cold! LIST OF ESSENTIALS Warm jacket for outdoors Waterproof jacket and trousers if possible Outdoor / walking footwear Footwear for getting wet
Swimming clothing (even if you don't plan to go in the pool...) Suncream and a sunhat / cap Warm hat and gloves Sunglasses Camera Pens Water / drinking bottle Snacks or other consumables as no shops nearby Cash for extras (cafe's etc.) Anything else you can't live without!
