12 ad Transport he National Road Network estimated by the studies carried out by the Albanian Road Authority is 3,848 km of national oads. All roads leading network and about 2/3 of the tota ngth of the secondary network are paved roads. East West Road Corridor between the Port of Durres and FYROM, part of Corridor VIII, which conne ntries of Central Europe with the Black Sea area. This corridor is almost completed. Works on so ments are still ongoing; Route 7 Niš - Priština Durrës, which in terms of new Nine TEN T Corridors established in Riga, in 20 Indicative Extension of TEN T to Western Balkans (Berlin Process) as well, connects the Adriatic Ion rridor (Indicative Extension of TENT-T MEDITERRANEAN Corridor), through Pristina (Skopje - Pristina - N grade), with the Indicative Extension of TEN-T ORIENT/EAST MED Corridor. A part of this corridor w ently granted by concession for its maintenance and is a good example to be followed in other ro ments of our network.

It is extended from Durres port in four directions: in north in border Alban ntenegro, in south in railway station of Ballsh, in east in railway station ne cedonian cross border and again in east until Tirana capital. Railways in Albania are administered by the national railw mpany (Hekurudha Shqiptare-HSH HSH). On 22nd of December 2016 the Parliame the Republic of Albania approved the Law nr. 142/2016 "The Railway Code Republic of Albania". It shall be in force within one year after its publication, i January 2018.

The rehabilitation/construction of t lway Tirana Rinasi Durrësi, in a total of 91.5 Million EUR, was one of t jects selected to be supported from the EU and the EBRD. This decisi lected the fulfillment of Vienna Summit obligations, especially the soft measu plementation and the existence of the strategic documents in the field nsport. The implementation procedures are recently in process. rehabilitation of the railway infrastructure sector is intended, initially throu e internal measures, aiming to increase the transport volumes, mainly from t rt of Durrësi railway connection. Albania aims to improve the railway links with ighbors and it is closely working with the Montenegrin counter partners in ord start the operation of the Tuzi railway joint station before Trieste high lev mmit 2017.

21 DURRES PORT The main and biggest Port in Albania and the gateway of Corridor no. 8th It s situated in SW part of the city of Duress and 36 km West of Tirana. DPA is a joint stock Company Where 100% of shares belong to the government. The port has 11 wharfs Road and Railway access Water area 67 Ha Land area 80 Ha Length of the quay 2.2 km

In 2014, the P Durres ranks also as one of the largest passenger ports in Albania and t riatic Sea, with annual passenger volume of approximately 1.5 milli ssenger, mainly with Italy and Croatia. rrently, construction of the passenger terminal at the ferries quay, with a fund out 22.6 M Euro (EIB and EBRD) is completed and is in operation. The funding of about 15.3 M Euro is provided by the Italian Cooperatio foreseen to be completed within the Port of Saranda Port of Saranda, it is built the new quay for cruise ships, with a funding of 4.7 Mill from the World Bank and is fully operable.
