Faced by appropriate works implemented. Interfaces between the new railway line and E65 highway which runs close to the railway line. Termination of 2 construction contracts due to the contractors inability to complete the works. Faced by tendering the remaining physical object into the contract currently in progress. Delays during the tendering procedure of the construction contracts (appeals, objections etc.).
31 PROJECT s COMPLETION Tithorea Lianokladi section: One line in use (diesel traction) since Full operation (with electrification and signalling): estimated by the end of June Lianokladi - Domokos section: One line in use (diesel traction): by the end of Full operation (with electrification and signalling): Q Additional / Supplementary works: Flood Protection Works (Sperchios river), Planting Works, and Monitoring System (for the bridges) by the end of 2019.
32 PROJECT s COMPLETION The completion of the Tithorea Domokos project it will result in a modern railway line, crossing a notably mountainous part of Greece that completes the Athens Thessaloniki axis. Benefits : Savings in trip time costs: Athens Thessaloniki travel time reduction ~ 50 min. Increase of transport capacity of passengers & freight. Savings in environmental and operational costs because of the electrification. Shift to rail traffic.
