Apartments Kasturba Gandhi Marg New Delhi NOTIFICATION Dated the 15 th October, 2015 No. 7-13/EC/DD/2015: Whereas, the delimitation of the wards of Daman Municipal Council (DMC) was last notified on 29 th November, 2005 by the Election Commission; And section 10 (1) of the Daman and Diu Municipal (Amendment) Regulation, 1994 (hereinafter called the said Regulation) states that for the purpose of election of Councillor, each Municipal area shall be divided into single member wards in such manner that the population of each ward shall, so far as practicable, be the same throughout the Municipal area; And section 2 (36) of the said Regulation specifies that Population means the population ascertained at the last preceding census of which the relevant figures have been published; Given the latest population figures that have been published in 2011 Census by the Census Commission of India; And that the Administration has not proposed any change in the limits of Daman Municipal Council and has retained fifteen seats for the Council that had hitherto been notified vide Notification No.1/28/95/EC(LB)/12 dated 10 th April, 1995; Contd.. p/ 2

2 :2: Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) & (2) of section 10 of the Daman and Diu Municipal (Amendment) Regulation, 1994, read with rule 3 (2) (a) of the Daman and Diu Municipalities (Election) Rules, 1995, the Election Commission for the Union territory of Daman and Diu, appointed under section 185 of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (Panchayats) Regulation, 1994, rationalizes the boundaries of the wards of Daman Municipal Council and hereby publishes its proposal for the delimitation of fifteen wards of DMC as specified in the schedule appended to this notification for inviting suggestions and objections in this regard by 6 th November, Any objection or suggestion thereto should be submitted to the under mentioned officers either personally or by other means between a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on all working days not later than 6 th November, All suggestions or objections received after this date and time will not be considered:- (i) The Collector, Daman/Director (Municipal Administration), Collectorate, Daman. (ii) The Chief Officer, Daman Municipal Council, Daman. A detailed map showing the extent of each ward of the DMC shall remain available for inspection free of charge for the same period from the date of publication of this notification in the offices of the aforesaid officers and can additionally be accessed on (Ms. Bhupinder Prasad) Election Commissioner

This ward is starting from Luhar Falia to Dhobi Talav road and starting from Char Rasta Main Road upto Biblos Market, area form Char Rasta to Tin Batti including Fish Market Luhar Falia falls in this ward, area from Tin Batti to Mahyavanshi falia via Old Police Quarter, Khatkiwad, Taxi Stand, Dhakliniwadi, and Kumbharwad falls in this ward.
