Kempegowda International Airport is commissioned with 09 new additional Code C and 01 Code E MARS aircraft stands added to the existing apron towards west, with facility like fuel hydrant pits, Fixed Electrical Ground Power (FEGP s), high mast lights, etc. 2. 2 Note: i. Stands 501, 502, 503, 504, 505 and 506 are southern stands whereas 507, 508, 509 and 510 are northern stands and are geographically located west of stands 49 and 51 W respectively. ii. All stands are provided with stand identification boards. iii. Fixed Electrical Ground Power (FEGP) Stands 501, 502, 503, 504, 505, 506, 507, 508, 509 and 510 are equipped with Ground Hatch Pits which will supply power at 50Hz. 415V and 3 Phase with 1 X 90KVA output. iv. Pilots should exercise caution when maneuvering on the apron due to the proximity of other aircraft, ground staff and equipment. Engine power should be restricted to the minimum required, to reduce the adverse effect of jet blast. 3. PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON STANDS: STAND NO. NO PARKING OCCUPIED BY CODE C OCCUPIED BY CODE D/E CODE C CODE D/E , Airports Authority of India AIP Supplement 141/2018 Page 2 of 7
3 4. PUSHBACK PROCEDURES: All aircraft which has already received the DCL clearance will report Ready for push-back/start-up" on CLD frequency ( MHz) only. CDL will change over the aircraft to SMC on MHz considering the amount of traffic with SMC, for push back and start up clearance. All Code A/B/C aircraft from southern stands 501, 503, 504, 505, 506 and northern stands 507, 508, 509 and 510 shall pushback respectively on L3 and only. Code D/E aircraft parked on stand 502 shall pushback on L2 only. Simultaneous pushback and start up by Code A/B/C aircraft on aircraft stand taxi lanes and L3 is permitted. The push back separation requirement on apron incorporates jet blast clearance (minimum 250m behind code D/E/F aircraft and 80m behind Code A/B/C aircraft). All stands in the apron are power in/push back. Power out is not permitted from any stand. Special arrangements will be made by BIAL to facilitate aircraft parking and taxiing out on own power from a parking location due to operational requirements. Ensuring correct pushback on /L2/L3 as per instructions received from ATC is the responsibility of Airline operator. All aircraft shall be pushed back up to the specified pushback position marking (i.e., the nose wheel of the aircraft shall be at the point where the stand lead in line from which the aircraft pushback meets the aircraft stand taxi lane) corresponding to the stand from which push back was commenced unless otherwise instructed by ATC. 5. PUSH BACK RESTRICTIONS: I. Push back restrictions for stands 501, 503, 504, 505, 506, 507, 508, 509 and 510 shall remain the same as in the existing apron elaborated as below: A. Minimum Separation of stands required for simultaneous push-back and startup of aircraft: a) For the same direction pushback and start up, the following minimum separation is applicable: 1. Between Code A/B/C & Code A/B/C ±5 Stands 2. Between Code D/E & Code D/E ±11 Stands Airports Authority of India AIP Supplement 141/2018 Page 3 of 7
4 3. Between code A/B/C & code D/E i. Code A/B/C in front of Code D/E ±5 Stands ii. Code D/E in front of Code A/B/C ±11 Stands b) For opposite direction pushback and start up: 1. Tail to Tail: i. Between Code A/B/C & Code A/B/C ±5 Stands ii. Between Code D/E & Code A/B/C/D/E ±11 Stands 2. Nose to Nose (only for Code C or smaller type aircraft, Taxi out with follow-me service to change lane to L3 or vice versa): i. Between Code A/B/C & Code A/B/C aircraft ±3 Stands c) For Departure & Arrival: 1. When arrival coming to a stand behind the aircraft pushing back i. Code A/B/C pushback - Arrival Code A/B/C ±3 Stands ii. Code A/B/C pushback - Arrival Code D/E ±4 Stands iii. Code D/E pushback - Arrival Code A/B/C/D/E ±5 Stands Note: Care should be taken not to permit arrival to stand with Follow-Me service, behind an aircraft pushed back, if the aircraft which has pushed back has been given taxi clearance. This is to prevent the Follow-Me vehicle from the Jet Blast of the aircraft taxiing out. 2. When arrival coming to a stand in front of aircraft pushed back i. Code A/B/C pushback Arrival code A/B/C ±2 Stands ii. Code A/BC pushback Arrival code D/E ±2 Stands iii. Code D/E pushback Arrival code A/B/C/D/E ±2 Stands Note: Care should be taken not to permit simultaneous taxi in and push back when only the minimum separation mentioned in clause (2) i-iii above is available. In such cases, arrival should be allowed to taxi in to the stand only after the push back is completed. B. Minimum separation of stands required for simultaneous push back (one behind another in same direction) without engine startup of aircraft in front: a) Between Code A/B/C Code A/B/C ±3 Stands b) Between Code D/E Code A/B/C/D/E ±4 Stands Airports Authority of India AIP Supplement 141/2018 Page 4 of 7
5 Aircraft in the front shall be given engine start up only after the separation mentioned in the clause [A(a)] is achieved by pulling or pushing further the aircraft involved. C. Minimum separation of stands required for simultaneous push back (tail to tail in opposite direction) without engine startup of aircraft involved: a) Code A/B/C Code A/B/C ±5 Stands b) Code D Code A/B/C/D/E ±5 Stands Aircraft involved shall be given engine start up only after the separation mentioned in clause [A(b)] is achieved by pulling further the aircraft involved. II. a) Restriction for simultaneous push back involving an aircraft from any of the western stands beyond 45/53 (both inclusive) shall be ± 5 stands. All other restrictions shall remain the same. b) New stands are independent of Code F parking on stand 49. c) Any Code D/E/F pushed-back facing East from 45/53 and west, no push back will be permitted from any of new western stands. 6. TAXIING PROCEDURES: Automatic Stand Guidance System not available. Marshalling service will be provided by Ground Handling Agent at all stands. Apron is served with multiple parallel aircraft stand taxi lanes, L2 and L3 (numbered from North to South). Aircraft stand taxi lanes and L3 are broken lines painted in Yellow and are to be used by Code A/B/C type of aircraft or aircraft with wingspan lesser than 36m. Aircraft stand taxi lane L2 is a continuous line painted in Yellow and are to be used by Code D/E/F type of aircraft. Aircraft stand taxi lane and L3 cannot be used for Code D/E/F type of aircraft. Simultaneous parallel taxi is permitted for Code A/B/C type of aircraft on taxi lane and L3. Simultaneous parallel taxi is NOT permitted on and L2 or L2 and L3. Changing of lanes from to L3 and vice versa for taxiing Code C (or small) type aircraft is permitted only with the guidance of Follow-Me service at KIA, B. 6 Aircraft stand taxi lanes, L2 and L3 intersection with TWY D, H and K are installed with centre line lights. and L3are installed with green lights and L2 with alternate green and orange light. Pilots are to exercise caution. 180 degree turn for aircraft on apron is not allowed. 7. TAXIING OUT FROM APRON VIA TAXIWAY K There is no change in existing taxiing procedures. The taxiing procedure is elaborated below: Code C (or smaller) type of aircraft taxiing out simultaneously on taxi lane and L3 for proceeding via TWY K shall hold abeam respective stands as advised by ATC to give way for other aircraft in sequence. 8. TAXIING INTO APRON VIA TWY K All Code A/B/C type of aircraft taxiing for Northern stands shall turn left on Aircraft Stand Taxi lane. All Code A/B/C type of aircraft taxiing for Southern stands shall turn left on Aircraft Stand Taxi lane L3. All Code D/E/F type of aircraft taxiing to apron shall turn left to follow Aircraft Stand Taxi lane L2 for allotted stand. 9. AMENDMENTS/CANCELLATIONS: i. Insert Aircraft Parking/Docking Chart for New West Apron of this Supplement in VOBL AD 2.24 of eaip India and amend the text accordingly.
