Objective of the course is the hermeneutic approach of source and target literature texts and the teaching of Greek, English and Spanish translation of Italian Literature Texts with practicum in history and evaluation of translations. The practicum on literary translation has three interrelated goals: a) translation as practice, b) translation as theory, and c) translation as history. Students in the class will be asked to translate and workshop short selections from italian literature. We will work on the same translations as a class, discussing translation choices and procedure. The final project will include the translation in publishable form in addition to an accompanying essay describing the translation process. Term of the course: face-to-face tuition: yes on-line activities: yes 1 ECTS credits or comparable value of student workload according to the greek legislation (one credit corresponds to 25 hours of student workload).
