1 LEBANON Lebanon has always been a special country. Despite the recent years of war, Lebanon s long history, natural beauty and the spirit of its people give it a place in the hearts of all who have been there. With its legendary hospitality, natural and touristic sites and its delicious food, Lebanon is indeed a unique place to visit. An independent republic since 1943, it is a compact country of 10,452 square kilometers with a population approaching 3.5 million. Lebanon is located at the meeting point of three continents, and over the centuries it has been the crossroads of many civilizations whose traces may still be seen today. Its countryside is a place of rocks, cedar trees and magnificent ruins that look down from the mountains to the sea. In winter the high peaks are covered with snow and in summer their limestone slopes look white in the distance. Two rocky ranges traverse Lebanon parallel to the sea coast, separated by the high plateau of the Beqaa Valley. Along the coast are the five famous cities of Beirut, Byblos, Sidon, Tripoli and Tyre, the names of ancient Phoenicia.

2 INCENTIVE PROGRAM Day 1: Arrival Beirut City Tour Welcome Dinner Arrival to Beirut International Airport. Meet & Assist by our representative at the airport. Proceed to visit the Downtown district and see the huge reconstruction project-taking place to create a new commercial and residential district of the 21st century. This project has actually discovered that the capital is standing on the site of a very ancient settlement going back at least 5,000 years. Recent excavations have uncovered important archaeological sites from Canaanite, Phoenician, and Persian, Roman, Byzantine, Omayyad, Abbassid, Crusader, Mamluke and Ottoman eras. Continue to Corniche road and stop for a short walk in the favorite promenade of many Beirutis. Further along, the road climbs steeply to a cliff edge, which is the headland of Beirut, with an array of clifftop restaurants and cafes, a panoramic view of the bay and famous Pigeon s Rock. The road then leads down, stretching out a beautiful sandy beach and a prestigious residential area of Ramlet El-Baida. Transfer to hotel for check in. Time to rest and transfer to Babel Dbayeh for dinner.

3 Day 2: Jeita Harissa Byblos After Breakfast, drive 20km along the highway north of Beirut to visit Jeita Grotto, a beautiful natural wonder, and best caverns in the Middle East. Transfer by cable car to the caverns, which consist of two parts, lower & upper galleries. The lower ones are visited by boat ride, while the upper caverns on foot. Enjoying the refreshingly cool temperature, the sound of rushing water, columns and sculptures that have been formed by water and time, supported by an effective lighting system, allowing to glimpse the uppermost roofs. Proceed along the coastal road to Jounieh; take the Telepherique up to the outstretched arms of the Virgin of Lebanon in Harissa- a breathtaking view of the bay. Lunch at a local restaurant in Byblos. (Fish Menu) Proceed to Byblos and discover a town that goes back 7,000 years; and the world s oldest continuously inhabited. Located 37km north of Beirut, Byblos is a quite charming small town of great history. Visit its ancient sites, and then explore the old part of the town on foot, starting from fishermen s harbor, leading uphill towards the Church of St. John the Baptist and souks. The visit to the site begins by turning toward the left, to the east of the Crusades Castle. From the Roman pathway, columns appear. The main gate that dates to the 3 rd millennium B.C. brings into view a large skylight between two ancient stone walls. Enjoy afterwards a 20 min boat trip in Byblos (Fisherman s local boats). Transfer back to hotel. Time to rest and transfer to dinner at Dunya Beirut. Enjoy a typical Lebanese night with live entertainment and belly dancers shows.

4 Day 3: Baalbeck Wineries Breakfast and departure to visit Baalbeck. Cross Mount Lebanon range and drive through Beqaa plain towards Baalbeck, 85km from Beirut, to visit Lebanon s greatest Roman treasure, counted among the wonders of the ancient world. The site includes the temples of Jupiter, Bacchus & Venus, with the remarkable Great Court and the Hexagonal Forecourt. Proceed to Chateau Ksara to visit the winery and the historical caves and taste the local wine. Ksara has preserved Lebanon's rich wine making heritage for over 150 years, laying down the foundation for Lebanon's modern wine making industry. Founded in 1857 by Jesuit Priests who produced the country's first dry red wine. Head to explore the delights of Chateau Kefraya it is the second biggest winery in the Beqaa Valley with land that extends up to 3,000 acres. It was established in 1951 by its owner Michel de Bustros. Chateau Kefraya exports wines to a number of countries in America, Europe, Middle East, Asia, Oceania, and Africa. Explore the vineyards in a train and discover the old roman remains. Lebanese lunch at a local restaurant in Zahle. Return to hotel in Beirut and time to rest. Transfer for dinner party at Music Hall. Described by international media as the place where the heart of world fusion music beats, the MusicHall is not just a theatre venue and much more than a club. In 2003, Elefteriades Productions launched the first MusicHall in Beirut, a live music stage representing a new and unique concept: very short live musical acts unveiling talents from around the world in a series of staged eclectic performances using the best technologies in sound and light equipment, in addition to refined gourmet menus.

5 Day 4: Activity Day Gala Dinner After breakfast, enjoy a full day of activities and fun. Kindly check the Team Building activities presentation attached. Gala dinner at Villa Linda Sursock. Enjoy a luxurious dinner in one of Lebanon s famous landmark. Day 5: Departure Breakfast and Check out from the hotel. Transfer to Beirut International Airport. Have a safe flight!

6 GENERAL FACTS ABOUT LEBANON Languages Many people in Lebanon speak some French or English in addition to the native language, Arabic, and often other languages besides. Foreign newspapers and magazines are available and the prolific local press publishes in Arabic, French and English. Delicacies of the Local Cuisine In Lebanon you will immediately be offered the delicacies of the local cuisine. The national drink is arak, an anise flavored alcohol served in small glasses and mixed with ice and water. But the offer of arak is a courteous way of leading you to eat the mezze, delectable hors-d oeuvres of infinite variety. Hommos and tabboule, both now widely enjoyed in Europe and the United States, are still at their best on Lebanese soil. For a main course you might be offered kebbe, which is mutton carefully pounded and cooked with crushed wheat, or chawarma, lamb grilled on a vertical spit. The sea also provides ingredients for savory Lebanese recipes. Local wines, some of which rival those from Europe, go very well with these dishes. Fruit in Lebanon is abundant not only the kinds known in the West but those whose flavor develops only under an oriental sun. You will also find excellent international cooking, including Chinese, Thai, Italian, French, English, Mexican, Japanese, Indian and much more. Relax and Have a Good Time There is always something entertaining to do in Lebanon. Traditional dances such as the dabke are popular in villages and they perpetuate costumes of the distant past. Both in nightclubs and at private parties and celebrations, oriental or belly dancing is always a great attraction. Known for its night life before the war, the Lebanese capital is still the place to go for excellent night clubs, discotheques and cabarets. About 24 km north of Beirut, the Casino du Liban at Maameltein, once famous for its top international shows and luxurious gaming facilities, is again open to the public. Sports Every sport can be enjoyed in Lebanon including waterskiing, snow skiing, yachting, and tennis. Clubs are open to tourists for golf, tennis, karate and riding. The Golf Club of Lebanon offers guest memberships to visitors who would like to use its facilities. The Beirut race course, set in its pine woods, is a favorite with race goers. Shopping Few visitors to Lebanon can resist its handicrafts, either in the old style or tasteful modern adaptations of traditional designs. There is pottery fashioned in the peasant manner, glassware and cutlery. Brass and copper goods of all kinds have attractive hand worked designs. Exotic caftans and abayas are always appreciated as gifts. Gold and silver prices are especially good and skillful local jewelers charge moderate prices for their work. As for clothing, everything is available from the top Paris designers to jeans and leisure wear. Lebanon s shopping arcades and busy main streets are crammed with shops selling every necessity and luxury, both local and imported. Passports and Visas Foreigners who wish to visit Lebanon must have a valid passport and a Lebanese visa. Visas are delivered at Lebanese diplomatic missions abroad. Make sure you do not have an Israeli stamp on your passport or else you will be denied entry to the country. Customs All ordinary personal effects are exempt from customs duty. Tourists are allowed two bottles of alcoholic beverage for personal use and 500 grams of tobacco (400 cigarettes or 20 cigars). Local Time Lebanese time is GMT + 2 hours in winter and + 3 hours in summer. Summer time goes into effect the last Sunday of March and ends the last Sunday of September at 12 midnight. Credit Cards and Travelers Checks Visitors will find many credit cards are accepted in larger establishments. Master Card, American Express, Diners Club International and Visa International are among those in common use. It is best not to count on cashing traveler checks since they require at least two weeks to clear.

7 Lebanese Currency and Banking Movement of currency into and out of the country and all exchange transactions are completely free of any kind of control. Foreign currency can be exchanged at any bank or at one of the numerous money exchange shops. The monetary unit is the Lebanese Lira (LL) and currently is issued in LL 50, LL 100. LL 250, LL 500. LL 1,000, LL 5,000, LL 10,000, LL 20,000, LL 50,000, and LL 100,000 notes. Coins are minted in LL 500, LL 250, and LL 100 units. Banking is a major industry in Lebanon with strict banking secrecy one of its important features. More than eighty banks operate in the country with transactions performed efficiently and at low cost. Economy Lebanon capitalizes on the initiative of its people and its geographical location to make up for the lack of natural resources. Its trading facilities, banking and financial services as well as its free economy made Lebanon the region s commercial center before With peace established and reconstruction underway Lebanon is again assuming its former position as a business center. To help strengthen the economy, authorities have initiated a new low income tax schedule to provide investment incentive, increase disposable income and expand the tax base. Government Lebanon is a democratic republic with a parliamentary system of government and a cabinet headed by a prime minister. Its constitution is based on the separation of executive, legislative and judicial powers, with a president elected for a 6 year term. The 128 members of parliament are elected by universal adult suffrage for a 4 year term. Climate Lebanon enjoys an essentially Mediterranean climate with mild, rainy winters and long warm summers. It almost never rains between June and September and visitors can count on 300 sunny days every year. In summer Lebanese like to escape the heat and humidity of the coast by going to the mountains. In winter, however, higher elevations can be cold and snowy. Average annual rainfall is 893 mm in Beirut, mostly occurring in winter.
