In cleantech, life and earth sciences: The Mediterranean Institute for Risk, Environment and Sustainable Development (IMREDD) brings together the largest concentration of people involved in sustainable development in Europe and the Mediterranean. With 2,500 students and 800 lecturer-researchers, SophiaTech is the ICT campus at the Sophia Antipolis Science Park. In addition to a research centre focused around INRIA and the CNRS and INRA laboratories, it is home to two engineering schools: Eurecom, a subsidiary of the Institut Mines Télécom, is accredited to train Télécom Paris Tech qualified engineers. Polytech Nice-Sophia, the engineering school of Nice Sophia Antipolis University, produces 200 qualified engineers a year in various specialities including electronics, computing and mathematics. 8 9
