1 P Pacific Cottage Paget Hall Pagets Hall Panorama Guest House A cottage in, on the corner of Owen and Burrawan Streets, home of Edward St Aubyn Kingsford (harbour pilot) in 1868 (see SMH, 24 Jan 1868). Was a home on the corner of Horton and Clarence Streets Port Macquarie. The date of its build is disputed as descendants contest it was built around 1824, while the Historical Society suggests the 1840s as Horton and Clarence Streets did not exist in 1824, and the half-acre site of the house was not granted to Morton until The house was demolished in 1937 to make way for Hatsatouris' theatre and shops (Ritz theatre) (see PMN, 21 Aug 1937, p.4). The home was built by Captain Thomas Paget Morton who had seen service in the Napoleonic wars (see Port Macquarie Express 18 Feb 1987). Mrs Atkinson ran a guest house there in 1907 (see SMH, 27 July 1907, p.7). Also known as Paget House. See Paget Hall Located where the former Government House stood on the corner of Clarence and School Street. It was in operation in 1939, then called the Canberra Guest House (see PMN, 14 Jan 1939). The premise was modernised and by 1954 was known as the Panorama Guest House. (see The Wingham Chronicle and Manning River Observer, 21 May 1954). It is now the site of Focus Apartments. (See also Former Government House Ruins convervation Management Plan, p.49). Gazetted: 16 Apr 1993 Creek A parish (lands administrative division). A trig station about 5km SW by W of Mortons Creek village and about 2km E of Lower locality. A village locality situated on the river of the same name, a tributary of the Hastings, 28km by road WNW of Wauchope. Supposedly Aboriginal name for clear water. Also known as Bappin. Originates in the area NW of Upper runs SE into the Hastings River near Beechwood.

Named after the SS that went ashore on the rocks off Port Stephens lighthouse in This ship was part of Nicholas Cain s Coastal Co-operative Steamship Company and worked between and Sydney. A perennial stream rising on the south eastern slopes of Mount Boss. It flows generally SE for about 48.2km into the Hastings River at Huntingdon. Previous name Creek; Left Arm of Creek. State Forest in the Wauchope Forestry District. Area about 753h. Previous name Pappenbarra State Forest. Property of the Noakes family of Upper Rollands Plains. Used to be called Paradise Scrub. (1). Named after William Skottowe Parker who was appointed Superintendent of Agriculture and Livestock in 1823 but was later compulsorily retired and replaced by his brother Henry. William Parker later settled in the area. Parker Street was not named until after (2) Wauchope. J. N. Parker landholder. Partridge Creek Gazetted: 29 Jun 1973 Partridge Street A stream rising about 13km W by SW of Transit Hill. It flows generally NE by N for about 13km into Hastings River. Previous name Stoney Creek. Generally dry except in wet weather.. Named after Stephen Partridge who was the first Superintendent of Convicts in in He resigned to become the first licensed hotelkeeper in 1831, but later was again Superintendent of Convicts until 1836 when he then became a constable. Passionfruit Creek Passionfruit Gully Gazetted: 23 Feb 1973 Located 11.2km S of Kew on the Pacific Highway. A partly perennial stream rising about 3km NE of village of Johns River. It flows generally ESE for about 2.5km into the Stewarts River. See Passionfruit Creek.

3 Peach Grove Peach Orchard Peachvale Pead Street Peaked Hill Peaked Hill Point Pelican Bay Gazetted: 18 Sep 1992 An early name for Laurieton. Also Peach Orchard. The first settlement was near several peach trees growing in an orchard on the river bank owned by two men who used to travel from Taree and camp and planted the peach trees. They used to harvest oysters and take them to Taree and send them to Sydney. This was situated where the present Dunbogan bridge now stands. (Source: Cooper, Ray. Farm off the North Branch road and Upsalls Creek 10km W of Kendall. Wauchope. Named after Daryl Pead a local mill owner.. A hill at one end of Shelly Beach. Area of waterway being part of Hastings River bounded on the east by Pelican Island and located south of Settlement Point. Origin: descriptive, a large flock of pelicans frequent this area on a year round basis and the area is located adjacent to Pelican Island. Previous name Back Channel. Pelican Island Pelican Point Gazetted: 29 Jun 1973 Pembroke Pembrooke Gazetted: 16 Apr 1993 An island in the Hastings River about 2.5km WNW of Gaol Point which is North of High School. A point on the North Coast at the mouth of the Hastings River. It is about 1.5km NW of the Town of. Previously named Penguin Point. (Source 'An Historical Account of the Colony of New South Wales and its Dependant Settlements' by James Wallis). See Pembrooke. A village locality about 7km NNE of Letterewe locality and about 4km NW of Hursley. Original name for Pembroke - a settlement on the Telegraph Point to Wauchope Road (Pembroke Road) 10km from Wauchope. It was named Pembroke by the Edwards brothers who owned land and named it after Pembroke in Wales. Name later changed to brooke instead of broke because it was more socially acceptable. Originally known as Stoney Creek. Local Indigenous name was Monambang.

A railway platform on the Sydney-Grafton- South Brisbane line. It is about 463km from Sydney. See Pelican Point. Named after a stately English home built in the 14th century and once owned by Edward VI lately by Lord D Lisle. Viscount William De L'Isle was the 15th Governor General of Australia from He was the last British Governor General to hold office here. The store was located at Wauchope beside Jacaranda House in 1906 and run by Thomas Pepper. (see A short History of Wauchope, Vol.2, p.20). A former theme park in which opened in 1980 and closed in January The park was located on the corner of Ocean Street and Pacific Drive. Hastings Street Wauchope. Mrs Isabel Catherine Bourne died there The terminal point of Camden Head, 1.5km ESE of the entrance to Camden Haven Inlet.. Named after William Joseph Pettit, pilot and harbourmaster, 1829 to Innes View. So named as it was the road leading to H. Pfeiffer's property. Farm on the Lorne - Comboyne road 1km W of Lorne.. Named after Philip Charley whose family owned the land on which the crematorium is situated. A watercourse about 5km long. It rises about 1km SW of Tinebank Mountain and flows generally SE then SE by S into the Wilson River. A minor trig station about 5.6km SE of Mount Boss and about 6.8km S of Banda Banda Trig Station.

Station. It flows generally S for about 10km to its junction with River at Junction. Previous name Right Arm of Creek. A beach west of Perpendicular Point about 4km ENE of Town of Laurieton. About 1km long, extending to the N.W. from Perpendicular Point to the Camden Haven Inlet. Aboriginal name meaning "high ground." A partly perennial stream rising about 3km S of Kindee trig. station. It flows generally SE for about 3km into Kindee Creek. A rural locality which lies about 2.5km NW of Brushy Mountain and 4 km NW by W of Rocky Peak on the Bellangry Road. A reserve located in Main Street, Comboyne, having an area of 7765sq.m. Origin: the name was chosen to commemorate the pioneers of the area. At its meeting on 10 Oct 1994, Council resolved to name the park officially. Pipeclay Gazette: 16 Apr 1993 A locality about 3km N of Bagnoo and about 5 km SSW of Hollisdale. Previous name Pipe Clay. Pipeclay Bridge At Brombin (see H.S. Gazette 1953) Pipeclay Creek Gazette: 29 Jun 1973 Pipeclay Road Pipers Creek Pirramurra (1)A watercourse about 9km long. It rises about 2 km NE by E of Pipeclay and flows generally SE into the Hastings River. Previous name Pipe Clay Creek. Possibly named by Lieutenant Wilson after Captain Francis Allman s friend Captain John Piper - runs into the Maria River from the west south of Kundabung. (see History of, p.46). (2) "Named on account of a peculiar disposition of a tribe of natives who were camped on the banks of the creek. These natives were friendly to explorers and on sighting their boats would cry out Bacca meaning tobacco. On the parties landing the natives entertained them by blowing on a reed and leaf flute which gave forth a rather musical sound similar to a pipe". (no source) Runs north of the Hastings River from Brombin Road. Located at East Kempsey. (see PMN, 3 Oct 1894, p.6). Farm on the Batar Road 2km SW of Batar.

Alex Cochrane lived there in May 1889; James Swan in Plumtree Hill Point Allman Point Elizabeth In the Yarrowitch area just north of the Oxley Highway in the Enfield State Forest. Named after Captain Francis Allman. On the Hastings River west of Rawdon Island - mentioned by Phillip Parker King in his survey.
