She began work in the Bimeks meat-processing plant and since 2004 has worked for the Governent of Brcko District. Her duties are in the fields of environmental permitting, public participation in environmental impact assessment studies, the drafting of laws and regulations on environmental protection, and public outreach and awareness-raising campaigns. She has participated in international projects related to the harmonisation of domestic legislation with European Union legislation and capacity building for implementation. Mrs. Suman has also extensive experience in environmental cooperation with neighbouring countries in the frame of trans-boundary cooperation projects, and within the country with all stakeholders representatives, but especially the local government and NGOs. She has been active also in NGO capacity building and public awareness raising projects, as well as environmental financing. She also has strong educational and knowledgetransfer skills, proven though training of NGOs in management of environmental projects from the financial and technical point of view. She has managed or taken part as an international expert in a number of environmental related projects, among which were the conformity checking and monitoring of progress of transposition and implementation of environmental directive for candidates and potential candidates countries during 3 years, and the EC framework contract on support with complaints and infringement cases in the field of environment.
