Chi Mei Museum Fort Zeelandia In 1624, Dutch built the first fort in Anping, Taiwan, called "Fort Zeelandia", now known as Anping Fort, where has been the administrative center of the Dutch regime, and the hub for trading. The building was originally constructed in square inner fortress and rectangle outer walls. In 1661, the fort was renamed as Anping to commemorate his home town when Guoxingye (Cheng Cheng-Kung) has driven the Dutch out of Taiwan. Chihkan Tower It is built by the Dutch in It was originally called Provintia. In Dutch it means eternity. The Chinese called the building Chihkan Tower, Red Haired Tower.. Although Chihkan Tower has gone through Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and the Japanese Colonization Period, it still maintains its original look. Chi Mei Museum (Outside Park area visit; Admission to Museum is excluded) It is a comprehensive museum with wide collections of Western art, musical instruments, weaponry and natural history. Other than the beautiful Greek style architecture, outside Park area include Muse Plaza, Apollo Fountain Plaza, Olympus Bridge and Cherub Fountain are the popular site for photography. New JyueJiang Shopping Area Access the latest and trendiest fashion items at New Jyuejiang Shopping Area. Two-story buildings flanking either side of the street fill the outdoor shopping area, which consists of a pedestrian zone and intersecting alleyways. The bridges, pagodas, towers and bright colors make Lotus Pond a vibrant, renowned destination in Kaohsiung. Tianliao Moon World Moon World is a tract of barren land between Chongde Village and Gutin Village of Tianliao District. It has a dreary and desolate beauty of desert and is famous for its similarity to the landscape of the Moon surface. This queer terrain is called "badlands" in geography an adverse landscape caused by the strong erosion of rain and streams over the years due to "rejuvenation" of the earth's crust. A Chinese-style "Lan-Yue-Lou" stands in the proximity of the Moon World for visitors to rest and appreciate the sight. (Remarks: The trail has 200 upward and downward stairs.
