10 REALITY Cruise ships vary in size, but the largest ones are the length of two to three football fields. If your client has claustrophobia as a concern, consider one of the big ships or an itinerary that is port intensive.

14 REALITY Cruise ships work extremely hard to make sure there are plenty of options for everyone to choose from yoga to drinking, board games to dancing, Broadway type shows to basketball. Some cruise lines have so many options on board, your clients won t have time to do them all and will want to book again to have even more fun. Encourage your client to look online before they depart to view the online actives available on their cruise.

19 REALITY Oftentimes, the cost is less than land based vacations when you add up the cost of food, hotels, transportation, and entertainment. There are many different cruise lines with different pricing available, from value to luxury The extras are what can add up (gambling and drinking are the two biggest offenders) Try booking during shoulder season or when first released to save on pricing, this can allow budgeting for the extras

21 REALITY Statistics show cruise ships are safer than other forms of travel In 2012, there were 475 deaths due to commercial airline crashes worldwide, more than a million vehicular related deaths and 32 from cruise ships (all from the Costa Concordia tragedy) Cruise ships hold mandatory safety drills to familiarize passengers with location and use of lifeboats.

Make sure you as their agent research the cruise ship to determine age and demographics before recommending a cruise line or ship for them
