5 Weekly Themes for Preschool and Summer Day Camp Camps being held: P Preschool Morning Camp SDC Summer Day Camp May 26-May 29: Ignite Your Summer (No program on May 25th)* Grab your sunglasses and water bottle and get ready for a fun week of crafts, science, summer games and an outdoor field trip. The fun will rise as the heat does! SDC June 1-5: Pay it Forward This week campers will be learning how to give back. Campers will get to know their community as they work on a community/ YMCA service project this week. P SDC June 8-12: Artful Antics This week is all about focusing on your creative side. Your child will be able to breakout and show their artful side by creating art projects or even showing off their acting talents. P SDC June 15-19: Wet n Wild Summer getting too hot? Come cool off with water games, water balloons, sprinklers and slides. At the end of the week we will participate in the World s Largest Swim Lesson. P SDC June 22-26: Y Games P SDC Touchdown, goal, strike! Learn a variety of sports and different skills. Use your athletic abilities at the end of the week during the YMCA Field Day. June 29-July 3: P Holiday Fever SDC Celebrate holidays from the year. Experience various cultural holidays and new holiday traditions campers create. We will celebrate with a new holiday each day July 6-10: Ooey, Gooey, Sticky Break the rules of staying clean and explore the world of getting dirty! Enjoy fun outdoor games and a muddy field trip. Bring spare clothes this week! P SDC July 13-17: Superheroes Come as your favorite super hero or create your own. We will conquer obstacles and learn how to be proud of our own super hero bodies. P SDC July 20-24: Futuristic Fun This week campers will travel into the future in their very own time machines. Groups of campers will be making a time machine and other future inventions. P SDC July 27-31: Treasure Hunters Start your engines, let s get ready to race to the treasure! This week is all about bringing out your detective side and cyphering clues to find the treasure! P SDC August 3-7: Aloha to Summer Let s say goodbye to summer by having a party! This week we will be enjoying all your favorite games and projects. SDC August 10-14: Call of the Wild (Council Bluffs Only) Enjoy the great outdoors and learn about the wilderness, animals and camping basics. August 24-28: Camp Rewind (Council Bluffs Only) SDC August 17-21: Wild, Wacky Water (Council Bluffs Only) Submerge yourself in aquatic joy as you discover water games. Enjoy splashing around in this fun-soaked week. SDC Revisit all your favorite activities from the summer. Maybe you enjoyed a new game or art activity? This week is all about doing those favorites. 10 PREMIER CAMPS Your child will travel from the Y to places of interest related to the Premier Camps. Monday-Friday - 7:00 am-6:00 pm. All camps are for ages 5-8 and 9-12 years. Culinary Arts We will learn about food safety, the basics of cooking and healthy eating all while sampling great recipes. June 1-5 Young Artists During this week campers will visit a theatre, create their own pottery and learn new and different ways to express themselves through the world of the arts. June 8-12 Wacky Water We will launch water balloons, design a water obstacle course and slip down slides at some of the area s best water parks. Prepare to swim in both outdoor and indoor pools. June Put Your Game Face On Have you ever dreamt of being on the show Minute to Win It or scoring on a last second play? Practice your favorite games and compete at the end of the week. You will experience a tunnel walk at Memorial Stadium. June Hook, Line and Sinker Grab your hooks, bait and lines, we are going on an outdoor adventure to the wonderful world of fishing, camping and hiking. We will be visiting a science center in Aurora, NE. July 6-10 Air & Space Camp Look forward to plotting constellations, visiting SAC museum which will feature STEM demos, planetarium show and lunch under the B-36 plane. July Time Travelers Step into the time machine and experience centuries of our past. You could end up in the Triassic period or jump to the future - anything can happen! June Treasure Explorers Come out and learn the skills of treasure hunting. We will learn how to decode clues and go on our very own treasure hunt. July Geocaching Learn the basics of geocaching while gearing up for cache hunts around the YMCA and Mahoney State Park. August YMCA OF GREATER OMAHA

12 TEEN CAMPS Teen Discovery (13 years and up) Teen Discovery introduces your teen to adventures and opportunities for growth. The Y s program invites your teen to try something new and make friends. Our summer is filled with experiences ranging from pre-college enrichment and community service projects to themes, sports, field trips, and art exploration. Teen Discovery inspires positive self-esteem through respect of self and others. Registration Fee: $25 per teen - includes camp t-shirt. Counselors-in-Training (13-15 years) Teens will be trained in leadership skills and learn the fundamentals of working with campers under the guidance of counselors.

CITs will spend a week in training learning the basic day camp counselor responsibilities: caring for campers, licensing standards for day camps, camp and field trip safety, along with planning songs, games, arts/crafts and themed activities. Non-refundable deposit: $20/session per teen Training Fee: $65 Includes T-shirt upon completion. Training Dates: May Location TBD June 29-July 2 - Location TBD 9:00 am-12:00 pm CITs who successfully complete the program and have a positive evaluation will be allowed to volunteer as a YMCA camp counselor. Your camper will explore nature along the camp trails and waterfront in the great outdoors. Nature Buddies do not experience all the same activities as older campers, such as horseback riding. Campers will challenge themselves by gaining an understanding of teamwork, build mutual trust and increase selfesteem. Pals will also participate in typical camp activities such as horseback riding, hiking, swimming, arts, crafts and games. Member: $195/wk Non member: $215/wk Riders (8-12 years) This camp is designed for children who have limited or no riding experience but a love of horses. Campers will ride horses four times each week and start learning the basics, such as horse care and horsemanship. Riders will also participate in typical camp activities such as hiking, swimming, arts, crafts and games.
