3 INFORMATION & MEMBERSHIP FEES FACILITY MEMBERSHIP Benefits include use of our fitness facility in Santa Rosa and access to facility member rates on all classes and programs. The lowest fee for a program will always be a facility member fee. 4 CAMP REGISTRATION INFORMATION AGE LIMITATIONS Children younger than 6 years old will be permitted to attend camp ONLY if they have completed a year of Kindergarten. Please refer to each camp for more specific age requirements. ONE-WEEK OPTION A limited number of one week day camp spaces are available at designated sites; see page 13 for one week camp rates. Please check with the Program Office for availability. REGISTRATION & MEMBERSHIP Everyone is welcome to participate in YMCA camps! If you are not currently a member, there is a $40 registration fee in order to participate in camps. This fee entitles you to an individual program membership and is good for one calendar year. It also entitles you to discounts on other YMCA programs. CAMPER HEALTH INFORMATION All camper Health History & Medical Release forms are due on the FIRST day of camp. Please turn them in at the camp site your child is attending. Due to American Camp Association regulations, a copy of your child s immunization record is required. Also, to best serve your child, please inform our staff of any allergies or special health conditions that may exist. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The YMCA offers reduced rates for income-eligible families who wish to participate in our camping programs. Eligibility forms must be completed & approved prior to enrollment. Please allow 7-10 days for this process. To apply or for more information, please stop by or call the Program Office at or download an application from our website OUR LEADERSHIP We take great pride in the quality of our YMCA staff leadership. Enthusiasm, knowledge, responsibility, and genuine love for children are all prerequisites for our camp leaders. Our program leaders go through a rigorous training program which emphasizes child development, camper safety, and leadership skills. Great care is taken to ensure that our programs are of the highest quality & that each child receives the individual attention they deserve. WHEN & WHERE TO REGISTER The first day to register for summer camps is March 1st. You may register either online at or in person at the Program Office at 1207 College Avenue in Santa Rosa. You will also be able to register for camp at our HEALTHY KIDS DAY on April 14th, 11am-2pm at the Main YMCA. For more information on camps and registration, please call BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CHILDCARE PARTICIPANTS Children participating in our after school childcare program must enroll separately & pay deposits for camp. Camp is not a continuation of the school year. Option D Participants must register for camp PRIOR to April 24th. Otherwise, availability at preferred locations is not guaranteed after April 29th. REFER A CAMPER PROMOTION Refer 1 new Y Camper to our Summer Camp Programs and receive an instant $25 credit for your camp registration! 2

5 REGISTRATION & PAYMENT POLICIES SIBLING DISCOUNT $15 discount per session for each additional child enrolled (while in concurrent sessions). Discount applies only to day, sports, moving-on, and the Y Kids Club. This discount does not apply to 1 week sessions, camps with a 3 day/week/session option, or to camp rates already reduced through financial assistance. DEPOSITS Camp programs fill up quickly! If not paying in full, a deposit is required for each child in order to reserve a space. Please note deposit fees: (ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.) $75 per session for resident camp $50 per session for moving-on camp $30 per session for day, sports, and specialty camps $15 per session for participants receiving financial assistance CIT program fees are due in full at the time of registration; no deposit option is available. PAYMENTS ACH (Autopay) is the preferred method of payment. If you are signed up for autopay, payment is expected and will be deducted two weeks before camp session begins. Final cash and check payments for each reserved camp are due no later than TWO WEEKS before the start of camp. We do not mail bills. Failure to make a final camp payment by the deadline will result in forfeiture of camp spot. A $15 reinstatement fee will be charged in order for the camper to be reinstated if a spot is still available. Camp fees may be paid by cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover (Payments are not accepted at camp sites.) Payments can be mailed to 1111 College Ave, dropped off at the Program Office at 1207 College Ave, or called in to PROGRAM CANCELLATION In order to maintain high quality camp programs, we have established a minimum and maximum number of campers per camp. The YMCA reserves the right to cancel a program due to insufficient enrollment. TRANSFERS If your plans change and you need to transfer to a different session, we will be glad to accommodate you if a new session is available. Please note the following policies: Transfers must be requested in writing at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the camp session. One deposit per camper, per camp session may be transferred until 3 weeks prior to the session start date. Transfers made after the 2 week deadline will result in forfeiture of deposit. Transfers in excess of the allowed amount will result in forfeiture of deposit (or $15, $30, $50, or $75 depending on the camp to be transferred if the session is paid in full). There will be no retroactive transfers of deposits and/or full payments of camp sessions. REFUNDS We will refund camp fees paid in full, less a deposit (see above for amount), for cancellations made at least THREE WEEKS prior to the start of camp. In case of illness or injury, please provide a physician s statement if the three week deadline has passed. A written refund request is required before a refund will be provided. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processed refunds. No refunds or credits will be issued for missed days at camp, for cancellations made after the three week deadline, or for campers suspended or expelled from camp. RECEIPTS PLEASE RETAIN YOUR RECEIPTS FOR TAX PURPOSES. We are unable to run a report at tax time. 6 SUMMER ADVENTURE CAMP YMCA Adventure Day Camp is a daily escapade of fun for young people ages Camp provides opportunities for personal growth and group spirit in a safe, fun, and supportive atmosphere. Children are involved in games, crafts, and theme related activities planned specifically for their age group. This year Y Adventure Camps will be continuing our Reading Loss Prevention Program that campers can participate in and earn awards and prizes for their reading and literacy achievements. Our Ooey-Gooey session is all about having fun experimenting with different slimy creations, unique art projects, and much more. 3 Field Trip: Rebounderz PLANET EARTH Session 3 Dates: July 2-13 (No camp July 4) Planet Earth will take campers on an adventure to the vast edges of the our planet, where they might discover new animals, cultures, games, and crafts. The adventures are endless on Planet Earth! Field Trip: Scandia BLAST FROM THE PAST Session 2 Dates: June It s time to pop in that classic summer mixtape! Campers will warp through the decades with outrageously planned staff activities and groovy projects. The past and the future keep the possibilities for fun endless. 2 Field Trip: Cal-Skate LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! Session 4 Dates: July A cinematic themed session will have campers showing their outrageous talents and artistic endeavors. Campers will learn about the magic of song, dance, and cinema while creating their own masterpieces to share. 4 Field Trip: Bowling Ages 6-12 Hours 7am - 6pm Campers swim twice a week One fun-filled field trip per session 8:1 Camper to Counselor Ratio Summer Reading Loss Prevention Program PM Snack Provided ON THE FARM Session 5 Dates: July 30-August 10 Campers will get an opportunity to experience life on the farm and practice basic survival skills as our pioneer ancestors once did. With the countless animals and outdoor pursuits, the fun never stops on the farm! Field Trip: Snoopy s Ice 4

7 Sports Camps help build skills, fitness, and self esteem. Each session, a special emphasis will be placed on specific sports that includes skill sessions that provide campers with coaching and practice. Games and tournaments allow campers to test their skills. We will introduce our Badge Program to sports campers, which will focus on our YMCA Health and Wellness Initiatives. Campers will be able to collect badges that represent their healthy endeavors and achievements that they do with family and on their own. HUSTLE & HEART SETS US APART Session 1 Dates: June 4-15 Campers with their eyes set on playing at the next level or just want to have fun competing, should look no further! Our basketball and football session will teach campers the fundamentals of both sports, as well as the importance of safety and teamwork. Campers will also get a chance to feel what it is like to slam dunk at our trip to Rebounderz! Field Trip: Rebounderz Sports: Basketball & Football Badge: MIND Y LYMPICS Session 3 Dates: July 2-13 (No camp July 4) Our Y lmpics sports camp session is a sports camp tradition. Campers will be able to take part in different events, sports games, trivia, and even track and field competitions! Campers will get a chance to learn what it takes to make healthy choices and how it benefits their development in their favorite sport. Field Trip: Scandia Sports: Olympic Sports Badge: RETHINK YOUR DRINK TALK WITH YOUR FEET, PLAY WITH YOUR HEART Session 5 Dates: July 30-August 10 On the pitch or on the free-throw line, campers will have a blast working on improving their skills through fun specialized drills and games. Our young athletes will discuss and reflect about the importance of doing the right thing and making the best choices possible, so they can become a healthy role model for their peers, siblings, and teammates. Field Trip: Snoopy s Ice Sports: Basketball & Soccer Badge: FOOD & COMMUNITY TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK Session 2 Dates: June Swing away and look for passes during our epic baseball and soccer session. Hand-eye-coordination drills, fun skill activities, and insanely fun baseball and soccer games will leave your campers wanting more! 8 SUPER SCIENCE CAMP SANTA ROSA Schaefer 1370 San Miguel Rd S.T.E.M. Super Science Camp will ignite the scientific potential of every camper and encourage campers to maximize their curiosity with our unique STEM-based curriculum. Campers will explore outrageous science themes in a small group project based format. This hands-on camp experience will encourage campers to explore the scientific excitement of the world around them and come up with creative ideas for the future! STEM challenges and group project competitions will leave our hungry scientists wanting more leading into the school year! THE FORCE IS WITH US Session 1 Dates: June 4-15 The force is strong at Y Science Camp! Come star-hop through space while discovering new life-forms and planets with our Y space team. Space-aged science activities and out-of-this-world craft projects will have campers controlling the force in no time. Field Trip: Rebounderz 3 WIZARDS AND MAGIC Session 3 Dates: July 2-13 (No camp July 4) While wizards and magic are often considered imaginary, those creations somehow come to life in film, art, and other forms of media. The science behind illusions, magic phenomenon, and other bizarre creations will leave campers wanting to discover more! Field Trip: Scandia Ages 7-12 Hours 7am - 6pm Campers swim twice a week One fun-filled field trip per session 8:1 Camper to Counselor Ratio STEM Program Initiative PM Snack Provided DEEP SEA EXPLORERS Session 2 Dates: June The great depths of the our oceans provide limitless adventure and discovery during our Deep Sea Explorers session. Campers will be able to research the unique creatures that inhabit our oceans and experiment with aquatic-based science projects. 2 Field Trip: Pt. Reyes STEAM CAMP Session 4 Dates: July S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) camp has all of the principles of imagination, exploration, collaboration, and design. Engaging group projects and experiments involving all sorts of tools, blocks, and resources will keep campers minds sharp all Summer long. 4 Field Trip: Epicenter Bowling WILDLIFE SURVIVAL Session 5 Dates: July 30-August 10 Wildlife Survival will explore the biology and chemistry of the wildlife world around us. Counselors will show campers how we play a part in protecting the wildlife around us. Outdoor learning and unique experiments in nature will keep campers intrigued with the wild outdoor world around them. Field Trip: Snoopy s Ice 6

9 Summer Kids Club is a place for kids to have traditional camp fun, just a bit shorter! Activities are specially designed for maximum excitement and will include theme-based games, songs, crafts, swimming, and more! YMCA KIDS CLUB ALOHA SUMMER Session 1 Dates: June 4-15 It s time to take a trip to paradise at Y Camp! Kick off summer at the YKC by enjoying tons of tropical crafts and activities, ocean themed games, and a Luau party like no other. We bring the Hawaiian Islands to us here at the Y! YMCA: 3rd Street Cinemas WRINKLE IN TIME Session 2 Dates: June We are bringing the groovy times back this session at the YKC! Soaring back in time and adventuring in the future will keep campers busy with old school games, retro craft projects, and tubular group projects. Special Guest: Jump House Party SANTA ROSA Main YMCA 1111 College Ave GAMES GALORE Session 3 Dates: July 2-13 (No camp July 4) Games Galore will have circle games to large-group-games to everything in-between. Playground classics like kickball, dodgeball, and relay races will bring the friendly competition out of our campers, and new twists to our classics will keep them playing all-day. Special Guest: Tide Pool Visitors MAGICAL ADVENTURES Session 5 Dates: July 30-August 10 Magical adventures will bring out the imaginative adventure seekers in all of our campers. Our counselors will have whimsical crafts and unique activities planned for all ages in this awesome summer adventure! Special Guest: Sports Jumpy Party SUNSATIONAL SCIENCE Session 4 Dates: July The middle of Summer is a perfect time to explore the scientific wonders around us at camp! From high quality h20 games and activities, to STEM inspired projects, this sciencefocused session will encourage campers to explore the world around them. 10 PRESCHOOL PLAY CAMP The YMCA Play Camp program provides fun opportunities for exploration, free choice time, art and music activities, games, and special events in a safe, nurturing environment. Play camp is all summer long and you may choose either half or full days. Please provide your child with a packed lunch daily. Play Camp is located at the YMCA Preschool, a year-round licensed program. SANTA ROSA Piner Preschool 2590 Piner Rd Tropical Adventures! Dates: June 4 Aug 10 Tropical Adventure is out there, and we are going to seek it! Will we venture into the ocean? Walk with dinosaurs? Build a sand village? Learn to dance the Hula? The sky is the limit at our YMCA Preschool Play Camp! Your young child will enjoy each day spent at camp as we do craft or cooking projects, play outside, and enjoy being in the company of children their age. 2 We offer a unique camp experience that allows children to 3 lead their own learning. We cater our day and activities to things the children have shown interest in. With Kindergarten quickly approaching, we will make learning fun as we help your child retain what they have learned during the school year and also work on other Pre- Kindergarten skills (name recognition, listening skills, fine and gross motor, etc.). 11 Moving-On Camps are theme-oriented adventure camps. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, campers will meet at Santa Rosa Middle School and take day trip activities from 8 am to 5 pm. On Thursdays, teens bring their sleeping bags as they hit the open road for an overnight and two full days of fun and adventure. Over the course of the session, our middle school aged campers will learn new outdoor skills, join in on transformative community service projects, and participate in fun team-building activities that will strengthen existing friendship and forge new ones. Teen s will be able to earn Camp prizes for their community service projects. MOVING- ON TEEN CAMP DREAMS OF SANDCASTLES Session 1 Dates: June Cruise on down to Moving-On Camp as we get our week kicked off with a beach day at Doran Beach. This week will wrap up with two days spent at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and an overnight adventure in the Santa Cruz Mountains. ROCKIN & ROLLIN Session 3 Dates: June We will get this week rocking and rolling, literally, at Cal Skate where Moving-On Campers will get to rock to some cool jams and roll around the skating rink. Week will wrap up taking in the scenes of Samuel P. Taylor State Park and its surroundings. SCENIC CALIFORNIA Session 5 Dates: July 9-13 Campers this session will get to take in all of the views of beautiful Sonoma County as they get the week kickstarted with a trip to historic Jack London State Park. They will swing and soar through the great California Redwoods at Sonoma Canopy Tours in Occidental. This week will wrap up with a trip to Fort Ross and Salt Point State Park. DON T GO CHASING WATERSLIDES Session 7 Dates: July We will get this week rolling at Double Decker Lanes in Rohnert Park. Then we will slide into the end of the week with a fan favorite trip to Raging Waters and the California State Fair in Sacramento. BACK TO BASICS Session 9 Dates: Aug 6-10 Our final session of the summer will include a couple of day trips to San Francisco to check-out the Exploratorium and Alcatraz Island. A true final hoorah before going back to school! EXTREME SPORTS Session 2 Dates: June This week will get jumping with a trip to Rebounderz as campers will get the opportunity to have dunk contests and trampoline dodgeball. Week will wrap up on the battlefield where Extreme Sportsters will get to participate in Paintball and an overnight trip to Lake Berryessa. GENTLY DOWN THE STREAM Session 4 Dates: July 2-6 (No camp July 4) Campers will get to take the ride of their life this session! First, the outdoors-men and women will take a trip out to Bodega to fish and spend a day at the beach. The week will wrap up as campers row, row their boat gently down the American River and take a trip White Water Rafting. GREATEST HITS OF SUMMER Session 6 Dates: July Mini-Golf, check! Bowling, check! Swimming, check! Amusement Park, check! Be sure to get your camper checked in for a session of all of their favorite activities which wraps up with a trip to Great America! Y-CAMP, TOP CHEF Session 8 Dates: July 30-Aug 3 The teen chefs will be split into teams where they will plan and execute a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu in a Top Chef style competition. Campers will also tour a local restaurant and a creamery to get inspiration for their meal preparation. The week will wrap up at our Occidental YMCA Center for a night of movies, games, and fun! 12 FINE ARTS CAMP The Y s Fine Arts Camp is designed for aspiring artists, dancers, singers, and those who may simply just love to doodle! Fine Arts Camp is based on educational standards that will encourage young artists to explore the history and learn the fundamentals of each medium. Want to paint like Picasso? Learn dance from around the globe? Fine Arts Camp is the place to be this Summer! We will be instructing the campers in the fundamentals of the arts, while providing them with the tools and resources to maximize creativity. We will focus on four elements of fine art camp: dance, music, drama, and art, plus campers will be swimming two days a week! Field Trip: Scandia FINE ARTS CAMP SESSION 2 Dates: July The creative fun continues at Fine Arts Camp session 2! Campers will take part in creative endeavors and group oriented activities that will create a fun and engaging camp experience. We will also be looking at many worldly art and artists from the past and present! 13 COUNSELOR IN TRAINING PROGRAM Teens will gain leadership skills and camp counseling experience with the Counselor In Training program. Learn teambuilding techniques, risk management, project planning, and methods for interaction with youth. The CIT program is a supportive atmosphere for teens to develop the ability to lead, gain understanding of self and others, and experience volunteering with youth in our camp programs. The program consists of trainings and placement for one session of camp. **CIT TRAINING IS MANDATORY, IF A CIT CANNOT ATTEND TRAINING, HE/SHE MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM** $200 Initial Program Fee $100 Fee for additional camp sessions (includes training manual, t-shirt, & one session of camp) TRAINING DATES: All trainings will be held at the Santa Rosa Middle School (500 E Street) Dates: Monday June 4th through Friday June 8th Times: 9am to 1pm (please bring lunch and snacks) YMCA Camp Ravencliff & Camp Loma Mar Ages 7-15 RESIDENT CAMP For more complete program details and to register, visit Located in scenic areas of California, YMCA Camp Ravencliff and Camp Loma Mar offer a unique camping experience for boys and girls. Each session is highlighted by an overnight campout at our outdoor campsites, sleeping under the stars and cooking over the campfire, making for an unforgettable experience. Camp Ravencliff/Loma Mar encourages every camper to develop his or her personal values and skills, while building community through relationships within their cabin and the entire camp. Campers come home from Ravencliff/Loma Mar with greater selfesteem and a newfound independence, with a store of memories and friendships to last a lifetime. Let your child experience the magic of Ravencliff/Loma Mar this summer. Transportation is provided via chartered bus with a pick-up at 1111 College Avenue in Santa Rosa at approximately 8:30 am and drop-off at 5:15 pm the following Sunday. Players are grouped by age and ability to learn appropriate drills, skills, and techniques and teamwork in a positive and structured environment. She had several opportunities to take a day off and stay home but she never wanted to! My daughter has started singing at home and has so many friends now! We LOVE science camp! Y CAMP?
