11 CARLETON 50 Smoking legislation requires that all smoking shelters are not wholly or substantially enclosed and have a minimum of 50% open wall area. Carleton 50 Smoking Shelters feature reduced height glazing panels on all models to achieve compliance. To help provide greater protection from the weather, each smoking shelter roof style has a perimeter roof canopy. Carleton 50 is available with either natural anodised or colour coated aluminium framework and toughened glass or thermoplastic glazing. The canopy can be wall or post-mounted, and sited either side-by-side or back-to-back to create the most ideal smoking area for your environment. Supplied fully assembled. This ingenious design allows litter bins with an ashtray to be used in no smoking areas, by covering the ashtray compartment. Manufactured from stainless steel for use on two and three-piece ashtrays. This kit contains a blanking plate, which is easily fixed within the existing 9-hole dimple plate. Manufactured from stainless steel for use on one-piece ashtrays. This kit contains a 9-hole dimple plate and a blanking plate which are factory assembled to allow simple positioning within the ashtray. This kit contains a chrome dome top for placing directly into a one-piece ashtray, or to replace the 9-hole dimple plate in a twopiece ashtray. Fire Safety Device Firexpire fire safety device is a fire extinguishing plate fitted within the bin top. Should a fire break out inside the bin, a special replaceable, heat responsive device releases the plate, which then seals off the mouth of the liner and snuffs out the fire through oxygen starvation. Replacement of the heat responsive device using only a screwdriver resets Firexpire fire safety device on site. Stage 1 A burning match is carelessly discarded into a litter bin. Stage 2 The fire takes hold. Stage 3 In under a minute, the fire extinguishing plate drops onto the liner. Stage 4 The fire is contained. (Firexpire fire safety device is an effective low cost auxiliary device and must never replace primary fire prevention measures. Obstructions preventing the plate from dropping may adversely affect the function of the unit and as many Firexpire devices are used in unsupervised locations, regular inspection and immediate replacement of any damaged or distorted components is essential.) Please note that Firexpire fire safety device and litter aperture flaps cannot be used together as the flaps would prevent the Firexpire device from working. (Firexpire is not available on litter bins with fitted hood-mounted ashtrays.) 19
