4 NEB Gas Tariff Sheet No. 4 PRELIMINARY STATEMENT This National Energy Board (NEB) Gas Transportation Tariff is filed by Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline Management Ltd. (Maritimes Pipeline) on behalf of Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline Limited Partnership (Maritimes L.P.) in compliance with the requirements of the National Energy Board Act and sets forth the terms and conditions of the transportation rendered by Maritimes L.P. Maritimes L.P. is a natural gas company engaged in the business of transporting natural gas in interprovincial commerce under authorization granted by and subject to the jurisdiction of the NEB. Maritimes L.P. transports natural gas from the Sable Offshore Energy Project which is delivered from the offshore to a plant at Goldboro, Nova Scotia. The facilities owned by Maritimes L.P. consist of a pipeline system which extends from a point near Goldboro through the Provinces of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to a point near St. Stephen, New Brunswick, at the international border between Canada and the United States. Maritimes L.P. interconnects at the international border with Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline, L.L.C., a pipeline system that extends through the States of Maine and New Hampshire to a terminus near Dracut, Massachusetts. The transportation of natural gas is undertaken by Maritimes L.P. only under written contract acceptable to Maritimes L.P. after consideration of its commitments to others, delivery capacity and other factors deemed pertinent by Maritimes L.P.
