1 Bendigo men Untrained, but keen 15 Mar, :00 AM EIGHT young central Victorian men jigged, sang, pirouetted and cart-wheeled in an attempt to dance their way into Untrained last week. Two positions were up for grabs at the audition at the Old Fire Station, Bendigo, on Friday, to play the roles of untrained dancers, alongside two trained dancers, in the production to tour regional Victoria. The two successful applicants Nathan King and Jarrod Elliot, will rehearse for five days in July, before taking Untrained to Bendigo, Swan Hill, Horsham, Hamilton and Portland. Choreographer Lucy Geurin said the audition went well and the men were courageous. They were asked to do some quite unusual things, she said. Ms Geurin said the production would be altered to suit the untrained men s interests and professions. The audience initially finds it quite amusing and partially terrifying because these men are out on stage, which is quite daunting. But the audience ends up with a great respect and empathy for the untrained and admiration for the dancers at just how skilled they are, she said.
