Private James Newcomer of Co B 328 Infantry died on the Moselle River, France, September 9, On November , an armistice was signed to end the direct fighting in World War I. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the war, Western Maryland Regional Library has created a webpage at digital.whilbr.org that highlights Washington County s service men, nurses and YMCA workers.
