2 Page2 From your Chapter Director Bonnie O Guinn May 2018 On Thursday when Dan and Linda Sue came down in motor home with BUDDY their new dog, Steve and I met them at Ramsey for ice cream then on Friday we met Kris at Ramsey also for ice cream, best ice cream around. On Friday night Linda Sue and Dan invited Steve, Jeannie, and me out to eat at campground in Bluff City. Eric was there also along with Kris and Nancy and Charlie Mallet. After eating the guys started a bonfire, we all sat around it except for Nancy (allergies) and talked and talked. Finally, back to Ramada Inn where I decided to stay I don't like to drive the 30 miles back home by myself. I had a very good time when they were doing the trike and bike courses, I sort of spoiled the instructors, I would bring them coffee and diet soda when they were not expecting it. Steve has mentioned before I let them use my trike and trailer for demo with the promise that one of the instructors will ride my trike and I get to ride with him. This year it was Eric Echols turn (I already had permission from Regina) but Eric usually leaves from the Keyes Restaurant in Keysport and goes home to Troy. So, what we did was Kris rode Eric's bike then on way back home I rode with Kris. Next year I wonder who I will ride with next year. From your Illinois District Educators, Steve & Jeannie Brungard Here it is almost May, and Mother Nature still wants to throw a few curves at us. Nice sunny day then snow that night. Who ticked her off? We just completed our riding courses here in Vandalia. We had Trike Trailering on Saturday the 21 st and had 6 trike riders and 5 co-riders improving their skills while pulling a trailer. On Sunday the 22 nd we had 5 bikes and 3 co-riders improving their skills. Mother Nature threw some rain at us but it cleared up and dried up for the range exercises:

3 Page3 then it got cooler but it did improve. I want to thanks our instructors for Illinois, Dan Davis, Kris Andre, Eric Echols and myself for taking the time to come here to teach these courses. I would like to thank Bonnie O Guinn, Chapter U director for allowing us to use her trike and trailer for the demonstrations of the exercises and for Chapter U providing snacks and water and a good meal at the Keyes on Saturday night. A fun time was had by all. I still have some room for the trike course in Sterling May 6. At this time 4/22/18 I have 7 openings left. The Sterling ARC class had to be canceled for lack of participation. Please keep riding safely. Any questions about riding courses or the levels program just give me a call or me. He told them he didn t know the way to Bagdad. They said it s easy just follow those telephone poles across the desert and if you have a problem each Pole has a telephone back to here. So the guy took the camel and sure enough halfway to Baghdad the camel laid down on his side and wouldn t move. The hertz rental Camel mechanic arrived and look the situation over. He picked up the camels tail and looked at the situation. He then walked around to the side kicked the camel in the side. The camel Let out a big fart and got up and was ready to go. The guy said what was wrong with him? 7 Page7 DuQuoin State Fairgrounds DuQuoin is about 30 miles south of I-64, on U.S. 51 in Southern IL. You can exit from I-57 at Benton and go West on Rt. 14 about 15 miles. The Fairgrounds are visible from Rt 14 and also from US 51. The Ride-In takes place in the north-east corner inside the fairgrounds, north of the grandstand and next to equestrian arena th ANNUAL Southern Illinois Ride In Local HOTELS in DuQuoin: Super 8 (618) Fairgrounds Inn (618) Tent and RV Camping available at fairgrounds In October 1985, GWRRA Chapters U, F, P, S & Q first hosted the Southern Illinois Ride-In. Since then the Ride-In has grown to become an event many plan to attend every year in the fall. We ve had riders from Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, Alabama and California attend the Ride-In. All makes and models of motorcycles welcome!
