1 UNITED NATIONS Monday, 4 October 2010 United Nations Climate Change Conference October 2010 Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center, Tianjin Daily Programme Welcoming ceremony A welcoming ceremony, attended by His Excellency Mr. Dai Bingguo, State Councillor of the People s Republic of China, His Excellency Mr. Xie Zhenhua, Vice Chairman of National Development and Reform Commission of China and His Excellency Mr. Huang Xingguo, Mayor of Tianjin Municipal Government, and other dignitaries, will mark the opening of the sessions. Participants are asked to take their seats by in Plenary Tianjin to ensure that the sessions can open promptly at Media representatives may follow the proceedings in the Press Conference Room. Parties are guaranteed four seats per delegation. A limited number of overflow seats are available on a first come, first served basis. Security and fire regulations do not permit participants to stand. Please note that security will enforce this requirement. The National Development and Reform Commission of the People s Republic of China and Tianjin Municipal People s Government invites all participants to a Welcome Reception in Hall N9 in the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center on Monday, 4 October from to (see page 4 for further details). 5 - 5 - Information Note Shuttle Bus Service between the designated hotels and the Convention Center during the conference from 2 to 9 October Departure time from the designated hotels in the morning: Departure time from the Convention Center in the afternoon: Please note that on Monday, 4 October 2010, the last shuttle bus is scheduled to depart from the Convention Center at Departure from Tianjin to Beijing Airport A shuttle service is available on 9 October (from to 20.30) and 10 October (from to 20.30). Pick-up point: Tianjin Sai Xiang Hotel. Transport will be provided from the designated hotels for the Climate Change Conference. Local staff will guide participants to the shuttle bus leaving for Sai Xiang Hotel where they will board the shuttle bus for Beijing Capital Airport. Drop-off points: Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 of Beijing Capital Airport. Departure times: 9 October October Cost: RMB 100 (circa USD 15) per person (to be paid at the Tianjin China International Travel Service hospitality desk in the lobby of Sai Xiang Hotel) General conditions All participants should buy their ticket before boarding the bus. Local staff will assist them in boarding the shuttle bus. The shuttle bus between Sai Xiang Hotel and the designated hotels is free of charge. Please contact the Tianjin China International Travel Service agency for transportation after 10 October. Please note that the information on this page will not be printed again during the session.
6 - 6 - Special announcements Hotel Information Counter Participants who are not staying at one of the 27 hotels designated by the Host Government are kindly requested to provide the name of their hotel at the Hotel Information Counter located at the registration area. This information is required in order to enhance the arrangements for shuttle services between these hotels and the conference centre. Issuance of visas to COP 16/CMP 6 at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center The Government of Mexico will issue visas to Parties and observer organizations to attend COP 16/CMP 6. This service will be available at the COP 16/CMP 6 desk, located in the main Foyer of the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center. Announcements Meditation room A room for meditation and prayer is available to participants and is located on the first floor in Hall N6 behind the Media Team offices at the right-hand side. Webcasts of the sessions Climate Change Publications Counter For the duration of the sessions, all official meetings and press conferences will be available live and on-demand, with English or floor audio streams. On-demand files will be available shortly after the close of each meeting. Publications clearly attributed to a Party or an admitted observer organization can be distributed and displayed, after approval, at the Climate Change Publications Counter, located on the first floor in Central Hall, opposite the Information Counter. Please provide a sample text to the Observer Organizations Liaison team located on the first floor in Hall N3 in the Side Events Coordination Office. The counter cannot manage large volumes, but will assist in changing the range of documents. Organizers of exhibits are requested to display and distribute documents at their exhibit booths. The secretariat is unable to replace these at short notice and this can lead to serious disruptions at meetings. Security Lost and found items Participants should ensure that they wear their conference badge in full view at all times, as the security officers may request them to verify their identity. This may lead to some inconvenience, but it is expected that participants will appreciate the need for such arrangements. Participants are reminded not to leave personal belongings in meeting rooms. Documents left in meeting rooms and on unattended desks will be removed. The Security office, located near the main entrance, is responsible for lost and found items. 7 - 7 - Pigeonholes for delegates Pigeonholes for the distribution of official documents and messages, which delegates are kindly requested to check at regular intervals, are located next to the Documents Distribution counter. Participants are requested to refrain from distributing nonofficial material via the pigeonholes. Facilities for observer organizations The BINGOs and the ENGOs constituencies have offices located on the first floor in Hall N3. Next to these is the office for TUNGOs, Farmers, IPOs, LGMAs, RINGOs, Women and Gender and YOUNGOs, to be jointly shared. Catering Restaurants, bar and coffee area are located in Hall N3 and N4. Lunch tickets should be purchased at the counter at the entrance of each restaurant.
