2 To all Bridge Players Welcome to the 2018 Peach City Bridge Tournament. Canada s largest and most enjoyable regional bridge tournament returns to Penticton for excitement and many games. We thank you for selecting our tournament in beautiful Penticton, British Columbia. We are committed to providing the highest level of bridge and hospitality and hope your visit will be memorable. This bulletin has been prepared to give you information about bridge, Penticton, as well as listings of restaurants and local businesses that support our tournament. If we can help in any way, please see us at the Hospitality Desk one hour before playing time. Have an excellent game at the bridge table and we hope to see you next year. 4 Please Note For KO s (first place only) there will be prizes available at the prize desk; there will also be prizes for first place finishers in the open pairs and side game series winners. For the 49er s and newcomers there will be an appreciation reception at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre on Thursday between 5:00 and 6:30pm. Food and beverage will be supplied. Sunday Swiss Box lunches are available Sunday. You must buy tickets for the lunch prior to Sunday s event. Tickets are available at the Hospitality Desk and concession stand. You will not have enough time to leave the Convention Centre and eat at a restaurant. You DO NOT have to buy a box lunch. There are five days of golf rush pairs. No one player may have more than 750 master points. Please be aware that there is a three day compact knock out start Wednesday. For your convenience, we have accumulated a list of restaurants, services and much more for your use while you are in Penticton. Please do not recycle this pamphlet until the end of the tournament. If you do not need it place it back at the Hospitality Desk. 6 Attractions & Social Activities Wineries, Breweries & Distilleries: There are more than 70 wineries, 3 distilleries and now 5 craft breweries within a 20-minute drive of Penticton. Pick up a Penticton Experience Guide that features a comprehensive map and directory. Recreation: Penticton and its surrounding area are a veritable playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy an abundance of hiking, walking and biking trails. Stop by the Visitor Centre at 888 Westminster Avenue (at the rear of the Trade and Convention Centre) for up to date information and friendly advice. S.S. Sicamous Museum and Heritage Park: The S.S. Sicamous is the largest surviving stern wheeler in Canada. It is open almost daily (from 10am to 4pm) to the public and more than 30,000 people from around the world visit the Sicamous annually. Give the crew a call at Penticton Farmer s Market & Downtown Community Market: The Downtown market is the biggest of its kind in the Okanagan with hundreds of vendors featuring handmade goods including clothing, food, jewellery, collectables, antiques and furniture, as well as live music and entertainment. At the adjoining Farmer s Market you can enjoy a wide selection of farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, honey, eggs, homemade baking, preserves, crafts, wines, beers and ciders! Saturdays 8:30am 2:00pm, Main Street. Art Galleries - The Penticton Art Gallery at 199 Marina Way exists to exhibit, interpret, preserve and promote the visual artistic heritage of the region, the province and the nation. You can also enjoy a leisurely walking tour of colourful Front Street and Main Street that are home to several boutique galleries.

7 Entertainment Cascades Casino: This relatively new Penticton attraction at 553 Vees Drive offers over 45,000 square feet of entertainment space featuring a spectacular gaming floor, exciting entertainment and culinary options to suit any taste including Gateway's signature restaurants The Buffet and Match Eatery & Public House, which has a gorgeous rooftop patio. Dream Café: An oasis at 67 Front Street where friends, great food and live music unite. Folk, Rock, Blues, Jazz, World, Spoken Word, & Everything In Between A little something for everyone. Check out the website for current shows. Shatford Centre: The Shatford Centre, 760 Main Street, is a creativity centre dedicated to creative well-being and a hub for artists of all genres. Enjoy drop-in workshops, documentaries, exhibitions and musical performances. An up to date events calendar can be found on their website South Okanagan Events Centre: This 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena is home to the Penticton Vees ice hockey team and the annual Young Stars Tournament. Since opening in 2008 the centre has also hosted a wide variety of world famous acts from Cirque du Soleil to Brian Adams.
