DAY 02 CHRISTCHURCH (Meal on Board) Welcome to Christchurch, New Zealand. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a good rest. Driver will assist for hotel check in and leave the hotel. Overnight : Rydges Latimer Christchurch or Similar DAY 03 CHRISTCHURCH / GREYMOUTH (Breakfast) Tranz Alpine (The great journey of New Zealand) Board the Tranz Alpine train from Christchurch to Greymouth. Experience the South Island s striking natural landscape by taking a train between Christchurch and Greymouth. Along this journey you ll see epic vistas, travel the edges of the icefed Waimakariri River, traverse the Southern Alps, and see miles of native beech forest. The Tranz Alpine is one of the world's great train journeys covering 223km (139miles) one way, taking just under 5 hours. You ll traverse the majestic Canterbury Plains, to the backdrop of the mighty Southern Alps the journey of a lifetime.
