4 YOUR RECEPTION VENUE PANORAMA ROOM The Panorama Room has a classical feel to it with over 180 degree views to the surrounding mountains and dependent on the start time of the reception you can admire sunset colour play on Aoraki Mount Cook. Perfect for up to 70 guests having a seated meal, leaving room for a dance floor, 90 guests with no dance floor, or 150 guests for a cocktail event. SIR EDMUND HILLARY CAFÉ & BAR A versatile venue that we can alter to provide an intimate feel for groups of up to 100 for a buffet reception meal. Or, it can be used for a much larger wedding party without formal seating. You have a stunning backdrop of Aoraki Mount Cook and Hooker Valley with plenty of room for entertainment, dance floor and bar area for the later part of the reception. There is also a section with a private balcony which is perfect for canapés before moving through to the main area for dinner.

7 DISCOVER AORAKI MOUNT COOK Aoraki Mt Cook National Park is home to a breathtaking environment of glaciers, terminal lakes, turbulent rivers, rising peaks and unique flora and fauna, it has also long been the playground of great mountaineers, including our own Kiwi hero, the late Sir Edmund Hillary. The park has been recognised internationally as part of the Te Wähipounamu UNESCO World Heritage Area. The region boasts more than 140 peaks over 2000m (6500ft) and contains all but five of New Zealand s 27 peaks over 3000m v(10000ft). The mighty Aoraki Mount Cook stands at 3724 metres and is the highest peak in Australasia. 40% of the park is made up of glaciers. The Tasman Glacier is the longest in the Southern Hemisphere and the largest in New Zealand. As the glacier is retreating it has formed a terminal lake, in which you can often witness floating icebergs. There are few places in the world where the process of glaciation is easily accessible and so perfectly demonstrated. There is an abundance of native flora and fauna, including species unique to the Aoraki Mount Cook National Park. Over 750 different native flowering plants thrive in the park, including the famed Mount Cook Lily, the world s largest buttercup. About 40 species of birds are found in the park. The most distinctive is the kea, a mountain parrot well known for its mischievous antics. The 55km scenic drive off State Highway 8 along the shores of the stunning turquoise waters of Lake Pukaki is one of the most picturesque in New Zealand. It is a fitting welcome to the spectacular surrounds of New Zealand s highest mountain, Aoraki Mount Cook. There is no privately owned land and the village centres around The Hermitage Hotel. The hotel has been a New Zealand icon for more than 130 years and offers a complete alpine retreat. Accommodation to suit all budgets includes hotel rooms with stunning mountain views, mid-range studio and one bedroom motel units and A-framed chalets. To enhance the holiday experience, The Hermitage Hotel also boasts two restaurants, two bars, a cafe and a retail centre.

Our Private Units have a sofa bed and a double bed in separate rooms. All units overlook the Southern Alps with carparking outside your unit. Rate is for 2 people, extra adult charges apply. Chalet Located approximately 200 metres from The Hermitage Hotel, with a fully equipped kitchenette included. Specialising in classic Kiwi fare, the self-service café & bar also offers floor to ceiling views of Aoraki Mount Cook, from indoor or outdoor seating. Relax with a game of pool or sit back in our big comfy lounge chairs and watch the rugby, tennis, golf or whatever game is playing on the Sports channel. Hot and cold meals, pastries, cakes, tea, coffee and a wide range beverages are available. 11 ACTIVITIES FOR YOUR GUESTS TO ENJOY GLACIER EXPLORERS The only tour of its kind in New Zealand. Very few glaciers terminate onto lakes and even fewer are accessible. Customers can view, touch and taste the year old ice of the Tasman Glacier (NZ s largest glacier) The icebergs that are seen have been carved off the face of the glacier and only 10% of the iceberg can be seen above the surface. Commentary provided about glaciation, terminal lake formation, plate tectonics, local and climbing history, flora and fauna.
