1 SINTAKOTE STEEL PIPELINE SYSTEMS PROJECT EXPERIENCE Steel Mains and its antecedents have participated in most of the major water supply pipelines constructed in Australia since the early 1900 s. A summary of some of those Steel Mains SINTAKOTE Steel Pipeline Systems projects undertaken in recent years is given below. Project Name: Adelaide Desalination Plant-Transfer Pipeline Supply of a pressure pipeline from Port Stanvac S.A. to Happy Valley Water Treatment Plant and Reservoir. 12km of 1575mm SINTAJOINT RRJ MSCL pipe. February 2009 to November SA Water. Pipe deliveries all on time with no problems. Project Name: South East Queensland Water Grid The South East Queensland Water Grid consists of the Northern Interconnector Pipeline, the Southern Regional Water Pipeline, the Eastern Interconnector Pipeline and the Western Corridor Recycled Water Scheme. 334km of SINTAKOTE steel pipe in sizes ranging from 800 to 1451 outside diameter. November 2006 to July The Queensland Government. Tyco Water met all supply deadlines for each of these significant projects. Project Name: Ballarat Link of the Goldfields Superpipe Supply of a pressure pipeline from Sandhurst Reservoir (approx. 10km SW of Bendigo) to the White Swan Reservoir (approx. 10km NE of Ballarat). 47km of 800 outside diameter SINTAJOINT RRJ steel pipe. March 2007 to December Central Highlands Water. Pipe deliveries were on time with no problems. February 2007 to July Coliban Water. Pipe deliveries were supplied from Melbourne and Perth on time with no problems. 8 11. Project Name: Torrens System Upgrade Project Supply of a pipeline within the Torrens Linear Park, between the Torrens Gorge Weir (off Gorge Road, Athelstone) and Gallery Road Highbury. The sites are located in Adelaide s north-eastern suburbs, South Australia. 3.4km of 1829 outside diameter SINTAJOINT RRJ and Welded steel pipe. May 2007 to September South Australian Water Corporation. First ever supply of 1800 nominal bore SINTAJOINT RRJ steel pipe into South Australia. Also used as a diversion from the George s River sub-main while renewals took place. 20km of 988/1067/1124 outside diameter SINTAKOTE steel pipe and fittings. October 2006 to August Sydney Water. Over 10 months finishing October SunWater. Tyco Water was able to supply 5.5km of pipe per week. Project Name: Clarence Valley & Coffs Harbour Regional Water Supply Scheme Stage 1A Water supply pipeline from Clarence Valley to Coffs Harbour NSW. 34.5km of 660 outside diameter SINTAKOTE steel pipe. April 2002 to September Clarence Valley Council. Contract period was only 21 weeks and Tyco Water supplied all pipes within the specified period with no time extensions required. A jointly funded investigation was conducted into the friction effects on buried SINTAKOTE steel pipelines and resulted in a significant reduction in the number of welded joints required for thrust restraint.
