India International Garment Fair (IIGF) is jointly organized by the International Garment Fair Association (IGFA), the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), the Garment Exporters Association (GEA), The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) and the Apparel Exporters and Manufacturers Association (AEMA) with Garment Exporters Association of Rajasthan as the Co-organiser. rd th th 2. The 53 India International Garment Fair (IIGF) was organized from 14-1 July, 2014 at Hall Nos. rd 7ABC, 7D, 7E, 8,9,10,11,12 & 12A, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The 53 edition of India International Garment Fair (IIGF) was inaugurated by Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Hon'ble Minister of State for Textiles (Independent Charge) Chief Guest in the presence of Smt. Zohra Chatterji, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, who was the Guest of Honour, Smt. Monika S. Garg, IAS, Joint Secretary (Exports), Ministry of Textiles, Shri Virender Uppal, Chairman, AEPC, Shri Sudhir Sekhri, Chairman (EP & EAC), AEPC, Shri Puneet Kumar, IAS, Secretary General, AEPC, President of Organizing Associations and Executive Committee members of AEPC at Foyer of Hall No. 12 & 12A, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. 3. Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Hon'ble Minister of State for Textiles (Independent Charge) announced the fair open by cutting the ribbon and lighting of the lamp at Foyer of Hall no. 12 & 12A, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. 4. Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Hon'ble Minister of State for Textiles (Independent Charge) during rd his inaugural address said I am happy to inaugurate the 53 India International Garment Fair. This fair will provide the much-needed opportunity to source garment from India. Entire world is looking at us with the hope that this is the sector which would yield rich dividend in terms of forex earnings by exports and has the highest employment potential. He further stated that the Prime Minister has reviewed the Textiles sector and attaches huge importance to this sector. This sector has also found importance in the budget and I thank PM for the announcements. 5. Smt. Zohra Chatterji, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, in her remarks stated that in a presentation to the Prime Minister, we have given brief about the apparel sector and its employment potential and growth. Mr. Modi is one of the brand ambassadors of the clothing sector and his Kurta has become world famous now. She further added that I am thankful to the Minister, who himself took the demands of Apparel sector and met the Finance Minister. As a result, in this budget, there is an increase in the duty free entitlement for import of trimmings, embellishments and other specified items from 3 percent to 5 percent on the value of total exports for apparel sector. 01

3 11. Stalls of various apparel exporters were spread over five large halls with over 387 national participants from the length and breadth of India. The other facilities such as Cafeteria, Buyers Lounge, Medical Room, Fire Safety, Business Centre, and Cyber Café were provided in the fair. In addition, Fashion Shows were also organized twice a day, and Best Display Awards Ceremony was also organized. 12. A good number of 991 quality International buyers visited the show. Many chain stores were given hospitalities like complimentary air tickets, Hotel Stay, Pick up Facility from hotel to fair venue and back. 548 Buying Agents visited during three days of fair. Out of the 991 buyers, 251 buyers were given complimentary airfare & hotel and 354 buyers were given complementary hotel stay. A total rd number of 19 buyers and 833 buying agents registered on the IIGF website for the 53 IIGF. rd 13. Two Theme Pavilions - showcasing DISHA and the other showcasing IAM was set-up during the 53 IIGF at the foyer area of hall No. 7D. 14. To encourage participation from all corners of India, IGFA had provided following facilities to the outstation participants:- a. A discount of Rs. 500/- Per Sq. mtr. subject to maximum of Rs. 9,000/- for participants from cities, where the distance is more than 1000 kms from New Delhi. b. One return air fare (Lowest airfare prevailing one month prior to the fair) on booking of stall size upto 18 sq. mtr. Two return air fare (Lowest airfare prevailing one month prior to the fair) on booking of stall size of 24 sq mtr. and above. c. Reimbursement of Rs. 7,500/- Per Participants towards hotel stay charges irrespective of Stall Sizes. 15. Ministry of Commerce & Industry has sanctioned an MAI grant of Rs. 235 lakhs for inviting overseas buyers under RBSM. 1. During the three days of the fair, 991 buyers and 548 buying agents visited the fair. It has been reported that the business potential from the fair would be around Rs crores (US$ million) 3. Ministry of Commerce & Industry has approved MAI grant of Rs. 235 lakhs for the 53rd IIGF towards reverse BSM for bringing foreign buyers through complimentary airfare & hotel accommodation. Under the Buyers Promotion Scheme, IGFA had sponsored 251 buyers by providing complementary economy class airfare and 5 star hotel stay and 354 buyers were given complementary hotel stay for 3 nights for visiting the fair. A dedicated website was set-up and registration facility for the buyers was activated. 2. A letter from SG, AEPC had been sent to 0 Indian Mission abroad, requesting them to disseminate the information to various importing associations, buyers association, Chamber of Commerce etc. for promotion of 53rd IIGF and also requesting them to send recommendations of important buyers for availing buyers promotion scheme. 3. A letter from Chairman, AEPC along-with e-blast I had been sent to 1512 buyers, requesting them to register themselves for availing Buyers Promotion Scheme. 4. A letter from Chairman, AEPC had been sent to 22 buying agents, inviting them to visit the fair alongwith their merchandisers. 5. Flyers has been distributed and standees were placed in the AEPC's stall in various international fairs, BSMs organized by the Council like MAGIC Fair, Las Vegas, USA, BSM in Chile & Uruguay and South Africa, BSM in Netherlands and also in national fairs like India Knit Fair, Tirupur.. Google Campaign was done in 5 countries to invite buyers. 7. Printed Mailers had been sent to 7294 buyers. 8. Posters had been sent to Indian Mission abroad (0 nos). 9. Tele-calling in eight languages like Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic and in English nos. of tele-callings was done. 10. For easy accessibility of the buyers, for the first time, multilingual mailers were sent to buyers, informing them about the Buyers' Promotion Scheme. 9. BENEFIT TO OVERSEAS BUYERS Free pick-up and drop from the airport Complimentary shuttle service from hotel to the venue and vice versa. Complimentary Wi-Fi in the halls during the fair. Complimentary Breakfast during fair days Complimentary lunch to the buyers during fair days. Complimentary airfare and 3 nights hotel stay has been given to the buyers through a systematic developed invitation plan. Complimentary airfare given to the buyers/chain Stores. As a gesture, multipurpose holder bag has been given to all the sponsored buyers. 1 17

Some of the major buyers who have visited the fair are given below:- Buyers from across the globe including Brazil, UK,USA, Turkey, South Africa, Russia, Poland, Japan, UAE, Australia, Hong Kong, UK, Spain, Australia, etc. visited the fair. The big buyers includes One Jeanswear Group from USA, Grupo Hotelshops, Mexico, Alpelo Conf. E.com Ltd from Brazil, OSP Group (Red Cat) from USA, Cape Union Mart from South Africa, PJSC Melon Fashion Group from Russia, The Original Factory Shop from UK, Cortefiel from Spain, Lulu International from UAE, etc. Mr. Doris-Yi-Yen Chen, Director of Sourcing and Production of OSP Group, USA, Mr. Kenneth Avron Lazarus Creative Director is visiting the fair for sourcing their requirements for the next Spring/Summer season. 313 numbers of buyers from 59 counties have confirmed their visit to the fair. 11. Special Promotion to attract Buying Agents 89 Buying Agents have been identified. These Buying agents are being invited through letters followed by phone calls. Visit by AEPC/IGFA Officials to the selected buying agents to extend personal invitation alongwith a chocolate box to visit IIGF. 12. Guidelines for sponsorship and procedure adopted rd for selection of buyers for 53 IIGF a. The scheme will be on the basis of invitation to Apparels and fashion accessories buyers only. b. The names of the buyers can be recommended by Indian Mission abroad, buying agents in India and abroad, database available from IIGF resources like Dun & Bradstreet, buyers' data from various BSMs and fairs organized by the Council. c. Hotel stay for 3 nights is the maximum which can be offered to the buyers who have attended at th nd least one fair from 49 to 52 IIGF. d. The request so received shall be decided by the Buyers Screening Committee on the basis of following point system:- Particulars Points Country Traditional Markets 1 (North America & Europe) Non Traditional Markets 2 Turnover/Volume (Apparel/Accessory) Less than 1 million US$ 1 US$ 1 to 3 million 2 Above US$ 3 million 3 Above US$ 2 million each during the two immediately preceding financial years/ calendar years. 2 Above US$ 2 million in each financial years in the preceding 2 years / calendar years import from India Product Accessory 1 Apparels 2 a. For verification of the imports from India of US$ 2 million or higher in as well as , the following is required from the buyer:- (1) CA's audited balance sheet or Certificate confirming import of Apparel/Accessories from India. (2) Names and addresses of Exporters with value of imports from them by the buyer availing benefit under the scheme. b. To verify the annual turnover mentioned by the buyer in his or her nomination form, either of the following documents are acceptable by the buyer screening committee:

12 1) CA Certificate confirming the annual turnover of the Buyer for Apparel/Accessories during the FY ) Certified Profit & Loss statement for the FY ) Income Tax returns of the company for FY ) Turnover during available on company's website for Public Limited Company. a. Buyer's who cannot furnish their annual turnover due to privacy issues, sales verification certificate will be obtained from their Indian supplier/exporter for FY In such case only 1 point will be awarded to them under the BPS. b. A minimum of 4 points (four) shall be the criteria for qualifying for sponsorship of hotel stay. (six) points shall be the criteria for qualifying for sponsorship of partial airfare and hotel stay under BPS. c. The buyers to whom hotel stay is offered will be given only room rent and they have to record their physical attendance for at least 2 days in the Fair Secretariat at Pragati Maidan. d. The buyers who are given sponsorship shall fill a Response Form and a Buyers Questionnaire duly signed, given by the Fair Secretariat to avail the complimentary scheme. e. The Buyer's Screening Committee consisted of the following members :- a. Shri Sudhir Sekhri, Chairman (EAC), AEPC b. Shri Lalit Thukral, Convener, EAC c. Shri Pritam Goel, Co-ordinator, EAC d. Shri Vivek Khandelwal, Member e. Shri Rajiv Bhatnagar, Director (F&E) f. Screening Committee met on weekly basis for approval of buyers who had applied for benefits under the scheme. Any two members of the Buyers Screening Committee mentioned above reviewed the applications and recommend the same for final approval of Chairman (EAC), AEPC. rd For bringing more buyers under the Buyers' Promotion Scheme in 53 IIGF, following changes were approved:- 1. Traditional and Non-Traditional country importers shall have equal weight-age with 2 points. 2. Buyer with points and above shall be eligible for airfare and hotel stay. 3. Buyer with 4-5 points shall be eligible for hotel stay only provided, at least one point is obtained based on business turnover of minimum US$ 1 million. 4. Buyer with less than 4 points shall not be eligible for any benefit under this scheme. 5. The buyers have to record their physical attendance for 3 days in the Fair Secretariat at Pragati Maidan. 13. FASHION SHOWS Fashion shows were held twice on all three days of the fair (one in the morning and one in the evening). There were 14 exhibitors (110 outfits) who presented their collections in fashion show. The collections were being displayed by 18 female and 4 male top line national and international models. The exhibitors presented different collections all three days which created lot of interest in audience. This list of Fashion show participants are given below:- S. 14 BEST DISPLAY AWARDS In order to encourage participants to display their collection in an innovative and beautiful manner, BEST DISPLAY AWARDS was given to the participants of 53rd IIGF. Ms. Anika Passi of M/s Coles Direct Sourcing, Mr. Deepak Singh of M/s One Design Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Rahul Mishra of M/s Rahul Mishra Designs Pvt Ltd., were the Jury, who selected the best-displayed stalls. Appended are the criteria/guidelines towards selection of 'Best Displayed' Stalls:- The awards were given by Smt. Sunaina Tomar, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, and Smt. Geeta Narayan, Director, Ministry of Textiles in the presence of Sh. Virender Uppal, Chairman, AEPC, Sh. H.K.L. Magu, Chairman (F&B), AEPC and Sh. Puneet Kumar, IAS, Secretary General, AEPC. In his welcome address, Smt. SunainaTomar, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Textiles congratulated the winner of the Trophies and Certificate of Merits, Sh. Better and more frequency of shuttle buses. 04. Please send the reimbursement in the buyer's account instead of giving cheque during the fair hours. Reimbursement process should be easier 05. 16 1. FEEDBACK OF EXHIBITORS Buyers' Participation was exceptionally good this Year. Fair is moving very well. Please keep attracting buyers from overseas. Need Better Wi-Fi. More Publicity is Required. Need to improve cafeteria Duration of the fair for a while more time like 9AM to 7PM, as some buyers go for lunch (minimum 1 to 2 hours ) Fashion Show, so overall we get only few hours for strict business. Prayer room should be available in exibition area. Invite Kids Wear Buyers. For Men'section, some advertisement is required. It was good experience, we wish to meet more buyers in future. Arrangement is good but you have to improve your toilet facilities. Well Organized, better Footfall and better quality of buyers. Please provide shuttle service of cabs from metro station also. Provide more cabs from the next time. It was a good experience overall. Buyers sourcing their requirements in a stall during 53rd IIGF
