KoelnmesseYATradefair Pvt. Ltd organized these trade fairs jointly withthe Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF) concurrent to 60th Indian Foundry Congress and 2ndAsia Foundry Forum. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. S. Thiagarajan, Chairman, Southern Alloy Foundries Pvt. Ltd. on March 02, 2012 in the presence of Dr. H. Sundara Murthy, President, IIF; Mr. C.R. Swaminathan, Chairman, Organizing Committee 60th IFC; Mr. V. Mahadevan, Co-Chairman Organizing Committee - 60th IFC; Mr, Gerald Boese, CEO, Koelnmesse GmbH and Mr. Ashwani Pande, Managing Director, KoelnmesseYATradefair Pvt. Ltd. In his inaugural address Mr.Thiagarajan emphasised on the need for trade fairs like IFEX and Cast India Expo as a platform to the foundry industry to showcase the present trends and technological developments taking place and to discuss the trends and challenges being faced by the industry. 293 exhibitors from 15 countries including group participations from - Germany (organized by VDMA and Koelnmesse GmbH with the support from Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology,Germany) - Italy (organized byamafond Italian FoundryAssociation) - China(organized by China FoundryAssociation) - Japan(organized by JETRO Japan ExternalTrade Organization) displayed their products and services which were witnessed by 7237 trade visitors apart from around 1700 delegates registered for the foundry congress who also visited the exhibition. Almost all the exhibitors expressed their satisfaction by the quality and quantity of visitor turnout. With more than satisfied exhibitors and the large turnout of visitors, IFEX once again proved its numero uno status as the leading foundry supplier trade fair in the Indian Sub-Continent. Cast India Expo, as a platform for Building Brand India as a global casting sourcing destination is being used by major Indian foundries to explore new business opportunities.
