For this reason, the whole area has recently been renovated by the great Genoese architect Renzo Piano, who had already designed the Bolla (the Bubble) near the famous Aquarium. Furthermore, you will discover the most important historic centre in Europe, in which two of UNESCO's world heritage sites since 2006, the Palazzi dei Rolli and the Strade Nuove, streets in which palaces and museums rich in artistic treasures are found. Genova is perfect place to experience the best of the Italian Riviera: the prestigious small traditional villages of Santa Margherita Ligure, Camogli and Portofino are only 30 mins away. 5 The Med Security Summit is a unique, international event hosted within the context of the Genoa Shipping Week. Over the space of two full days a panel of international experts from sectors as diverse as maritime intelligence, port authorities, ship security, anti-piracy, insurance, legal services and the military will gather to address a series of critical issues that influence the trade routes and overall security of the Mediterranean. The eight sessions will be distinguished by a holistic approach to examining risks and solutions and each panel will be tasked with identifying a series of critical issues requiring particular attention.
