TxDOT Aviation Wildlife Hazard Assessment and Management Program (Europa Amphitheatre) Matt Quick, Coffman Associates Megan Philips-Schaap, SWCA Sarah Brammell, Environmental Resource Solutions Rick Jones, Mead & Hunt This session provides an overview of the Wildlife Hazard Assessment and Management Program, with comments from expert airport wildlife biologists on liability issues, latest trends in FAA practice, the differences between assessments and site visits, and practical and implementable wildlife strategies and techniques that take into account small airport staffs and limited budgets. 3

Increasing Activity on Your Airport (Greenland Hall) Pat Brown, Texas Ambassador, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association Gold Seal CFII/MEI/Glider/CSIP and FAA Southwest Region CFI of the Year This session will focus on ways to increase activity at your airport. It will consist of basic marketing tips and ideas with a special emphasis on creating and supporting flying clubs and hosting Rusty Pilot seminars. 3:00-3:15 Break Exhibit Hall 3:15-4:15 Breakout Session II I. egrants: An Introduction to the New Grant Management Software (For Airport Sponsors) (Europa Amphitheatre) TxDOT Staff TxDOT Aviation will be deploying an internet based grant management solution (egrants) this summer which will affect the way you do business with the Aviation Division. With egrants you can manage projects and submit requests for reimbursement. This session will provide airport sponsors a high level overview of how egrants will affect the way you conduct business with TxDOT Aviation. This session is directed at airport sponsors. A separate session will be provided at 4:30 p.m. specifically for consultants and contractors. II. Developing Effective Stakeholder Relationships at Smaller Airports (Venice Ballroom) Bryan Elliott, Director, Airport Management & Financial Services, Delta Airport Consultants, Inc. 4
7 The airport community consists of many stakeholders including airport customers, airport neighbors, fixed-base operators, airport tenants and governmental entities. Airport operators need to understand each stakeholder group and how to best form partnerships that enhance the airport s functional capabilities, maintain or enhance aviation services, provide a platform for the airport to be an integral part of the broader community it serves and yield positive economic growth. This session will describe effective practices and tools, communication techniques, feedback loops and examples that highlight how leaders at smaller airports proactively manage stakeholder relationships. III. Pavement Maintenance Guidelines for General Aviation Airports: The Development of a Decision Tool for Airport Managers (Greenland Hall) Tom Freeman, Texas A&M Transportation Institute This session will provide a description of the development and use of a practical pavement maintenance tool that will allow airport managers or staff to identify pavement distresses and treatment options for their airport. This web-based tool will allow users to easily identify pavement distresses while providing both recommended and acceptable treatment options along with the estimated costs of each. 4:15-4:30 Break Exhibit Hall 4:30-5:30 Breakout Session III I.
