Showcat Bi-Plane This picture taken by Athol Franz at EAA s AirVenture 2016, shows Gene Soucy flying his Showcat bi-plane with his regular wing walker Teresa Stokes in action at one of the afternoon airshows. Gene Soucy is a regular visitor to Oshkosh every year performing daring solo aerobatics in his Showcat and together with Teresa Stokes showing off the graceful art of wing walking. 8 Dear Athol, My complements to you for a fantastic May 2017 edition. All your previous editions were outstanding. However, this edition is way above the rest due to the content, specifically your helicopter feature. Your layout makes your magazine a very exiting experience and a huge pleasure to read. The photographs are also fantastic. You have a winner here. detail a tale or two from his flying days with the RAF. What an incredible career he must have had. I imagine he was born in the early thirties by the names of some of the jets he was flying. His memory is amazing! However, as much as I enjoy Dr Lee s stories of his time with the RAF, I also obtain great value from his proper medical articles, as I did from those of his predecessor Dr Ansa Jordaan. The articles are quite riveting and appertain as much to the general public as they do to pilots. So, Mr. Franz, would you be so kind as to ask Dr Lee to stick to his medical experiences, but then about every four or six months pop in a tale or two from his flying career which I will again relish. I do have to agree about your comments on Dr Lees articles. I love the RAF stories too, but I agree that the articles should focus more on medicine in whatever form and I will be asking Dr Lee to concentrate on this in the future with perhaps the odd deviance! Firstly, may I congratulate you on your excellent magazine. It is as good as anything coming out of the U.K. concerned with aviation. As a man born in England more than 70 years ago I was desperate to join the Royal Air Force (RAF), but sadly it was not to be as I had very poor eyesight and my application to join up a prospective pilot was immediately rejected. However, this did not diminish my love of all things aviation and to this day whenever I hear an aircraft above me, my eyes automatically turn skywards. I am green with envy at whoever is winging that beautiful bird to some exotic destination. So, you can imagine how much I enjoy Dr Nick Lee s medical articles whenever he wanders off at a tangent and describes in great 6 African Pilot June 2017

China Southern Airlines now operates one of the largest Airbus fleets in the world with more than 300 Airbus aircraft in service, comprising the A320 Family, the A330 Family and five A380s.
