8 All passengers travelling in to the USA MUST have an ESTA (Visa) approval code. This individual code for ALL students needs to be ed to me by Monday 26 th January 2015, to this address: You can obtain this code by logging onto the website below and following the step by step instructions: Your child will NOT be able to travel without this ESTA code, or if your approval information does not match EXACTLY the details shown in their passport.
9 Spending Money To enable all students to travel securely and safely access and spend their money whilst we are away, we are going to use the mytravel Cash card system. All students will require two US Dollar Currency Cards for their trip to the U.S.A. The currency card is a safe and easy way for your son / daughter to access and manage their finances whilst they are away. The currency card will enable the students to; Withdraw cash from ATM machines and / or use the card directly for any purchases made from establishments who have the Mastercard acceptance mark. The card can be accessed from the U.K via the internet to allow parents and carers to monitor their child s spending or alternatively put more money on the card if required. The primary card will be looked after by your child s group leader (North Chadderton staff on this trip) and only used if the secondary card is lost or stolen. The secondary card will be used by the students on the trip. To obtain a US Dollar Currency Card, parents must; Complete the online application form on the My Travel Cash website. Please ensure you obtain a US Dollar Currency Card as My Travel Cards produce other cards that WILL NOT be accepted in the U.S.A. The primary card should be obtained in the main parent / carer name and then a second card should be ordered in the student s name. Each card will require $40 to be added to it when ordered. However, upon receiving the card the balance can be transferred to the secondary card that the students will use in the U.S.A. All account details must be recorded by the parents / carers and kept in the U.K., to enable you to have full access to the account whilst the students are in the U.S.A.
10 Any funds left on the card at the end of the trip can be withdrawn in the U.S.A. Alternatively My Travel Cash can refund any outstanding balance on the card for a charge of $8 or funds can be withdrawn from an ATM in the U.K. for a charge of 2.99% My Travel Cash charge an Inactivity fee of 2.00 after 12 months of inactivity if the card is not used and not cancelled. Therefore if you do not intend to use the card within this period, I strongly recommend you cancel the card when the trip is over. The second card is the responsibility of the student and should be looked after by them at all times and brought with them to Manchester airport on the 4 th April The primary card (with no funds on it) should be sealed in an envelope with the students name on, with the correct pin and password details written on a piece of paper also inside the envelope. The pin and password details of the second card should also be written on this paper just in case your son / daughter forgets their account details whilst in the U.S.A. The envelope will only be opened if the students forget their pin or if their card is lost / stolen. In the event of a lost / stolen card all funds must be transferred onto the primary card which will then be supervised by a member of staff on a daily basis. All cards will be returned to the students at the end of the trip. Please can all envelopes with primary cards and key information please be handed in to Mr Hewitt at school, no later than Friday 27 th February.
