We are pleased to announce the launch of China as a new destination for the coming season. We still have our trusted favourites of course, Costa Rica, Northern India, Namibia, Peru, Tanzania, Morocco, Iceland and Rwanda. I know many of you have enjoyed some of these exciting destinations before. We carefully select our destinations, first and foremost as safe destinations, but also something a little less mainstream, somewhere most students would ordinarily not get a chance to visit. We can cater for most curricular subjects within most of the destinations and as a result hope to enrich the learning and life experience for your students. Tours featured in this brochure are representative of the most popular highlights for each country, however we offer a complete bespoke and very personal service to you the teacher, where we will try and tailor exactly what you require out of your school trip. We pride ourselves on our ethical approach to operating our tours and only use carefully selected local suppliers, this offers you a unique experience and local communities a fair deal. 3 Nomadic School Tours is an independent specialist tour operator offering educational school tours to many parts of the world. It is a subsidiary of Nomadic Expeditions, a commercial tour operator with over 19 years of operating experience. We have worked throughout this period for individual clients and other large UK tour operators. We have also worked with many charities and schools over these years. On our tours, we aim to capture the magic and mystery of the countries we visit that will facilitate an appetite for learning, exploration and self-development. On tour with Nomadic We take every step we can to minimise our impact on any country that we visit. As a UK based school trips operator we feel this is particularly important because we are introducing other cultures to the world travellers of tomorrow and would like to think that we can help shape a responsible and respectful view of travelling in the minds of your students. We always try to leave everything as we find it and encourage respect towards the differences in culture and lifestyle, communicating why they exist so that the students can develop their own views of people, their differences and the need for tolerance and understanding. Supporting local communities We are proud to be working with the Ait Ouhem Association for Development a local, grass roots organisation in the Atlas Mountains. For every tour booked with Nomadic School Tours, we donate 5 per passenger to help the Association achieve its goals: 1. Provide houses with tap water Encourage students of the village to continue their studies through buying necessary materials such as bags, textbooks, books, pens 3. Plant different trees in the mountains all around the village to stop or at least limit erosion Create a textile cooperative for women so that they can earn a living that is otherwise not available to them. 5. The construction of a bridge to reduce local journey times When considering a Nomadic Schools tour, ask us about including a visit to the Association when we are organising your itinerary. Students can learn about how the Association is doing and see the real impact of coordinated, local action such as this. Considering the challenges of deforestation, location (the nearest hospital is 70 km away!) and lack of resources for education, this visit can be a humbling experience for Western students and worthwhile in terms of their personal development and world view. Having not used Nomadic School Tours before I must admit that I was very nervous about what to expect. Saying that, all the dealings I had with the company and with Mark during the booking process were excellent: my questions were always answered in detail, I received everything I needed and the whole process of booking the trip was efficient and painless. Nomadic School Tours were able to accommodate our low staff to child ratio and we as a school were pleased that they were clearly ABTA bonded and sufficiently insured. It is a country of such diversity, from it s mega cities to the rural hinterlands, from the ancient history of the Great Wall of China and the Terra Cotta Army, to it s modern high tech economy. A population of 1.3 Billion have helped to create this, the world s next super power. : Arrive Beijing Transfer to hotel. Visit the Temple of Heaven Day 2: Beijing Walk on the Great Wall of China, visit the Birds nest stadium and Olympic Park. Visit a Panda at Beijing Zoo. : Beijing Xian (Bullet train) We visit Tian An Men square, the largest square in the world, Forbidden City (also known as Imperial Palace, the Summer Palace. Transfer after dinner to the train station for our overnight train to Xian. Day 4: Xian Arrival to Xian station and transfer for noodle breakfast. Visit Shanxi History Museum and Xian Ancient City Wall. : Xian Shanghai (Bullet train) We visit the Terra Cotta Army the 8th Wonder of the World, with over 7000 soldiers, archers, horses and chariots. Transfer to Xian train station for your overnight train to Shanghai. Day 6: Shanghai Shanghai breakfast on arrival. Visit the Bund, Yu Garden, old Shanghai Quarter followed by a trip up to the 88th floor of the Jinmao Tower for a bird s eye view of this mega city of 24 million inhabitants. : Depart Shanghai Depart after breakfast on the Meglev train to the airport. Thingvellir National Park: Visit boiling mud pools, geysirs and stunning waterfalls. Hveragerdi and Landgraeoslan: Learn about harnessing some of Iceland s natural energy supplies into every day life. Skaftafell national Park: Visit the Vatnajokull glacier and hike to the Svartifoss waterfall. Breidamerkurjokull Glacier Lagoon: Visit this amazing glacier lagoon with floating ice bergs. Reynishellir Cave & Solheimajokull Glacier: Discover the Black sands of South Iceland s beaches and explore the Solheimajokull glacier. MOROCCO Morocco offers the student a chance to explore many different curricular subjects. Geography is always particularly popular with a focus on irrigation methods in the Sahara.

Todra Gorge; Explore the geology of this magnificent 300m high Todra Gorge. Sahara Desert: Camel Trek into the Sahara Desert to a Berber camp for a night under the Saharan stars.

8 MOROCCO Morocco offers the student a chance to explore many different curricular subjects. Geography is always particularly popular with a focus on irrigation methods in the Sahara. Day 2 Day 4 Day 6 Day 8 Marrakech: Spend the evening in Marrakech. Gorges du Dades: See traditional villages and kasbahs in the Gorges du Dades. Students may also get involved in a community project or learn about cheetah s through the Cheetah Conservation Fund. : Day 2: /4 Arrive Windhoek: Transfer to Sesriem in Namib Naukluft National Park Sesriem: Early morning trek up one of the world s highest sand dunes, continue on to Swakopmund Swakopmund: Old German colonial city, deep sea fishing trip, dune boarding Skeleton Coast: Visit Cape Cross Seal Colony & nearby San Tribe paintings dating back 5000 years Day 6 Twyelfontein: We go back in time 260 million years, as we visit the Petrified Forest, fossilised for ever in Sandstone Etosha National Park: A full day of close up game viewing, see elephant, lion, giraffe, zebra, ostrich, cheetah and many more Day 8 Etosha - Windhoek: Early morning game drive before heading back to Windhoek Day 9 Windhoek or Depart UK: Walking tour of Windhoek city centre 0 Depart UK OPTION 2 School or community project visit, with visit to Himba Tribe in Kaokoveld OPTION 3 Cheetah Conservation Fund visit CURRICULUM: GEOGRAPHY HISTORY BIOLOGY ART RELIGIOUS STUDIES HUMANITIES 8

This is a cultural and personal learning experience for the student, that will endure for a lifetime. Day 2 Day 4 Arrive Delhi: Transfer, evening in Delhi Jaipur: En-route Jaipur AM, start to explore Rajasthan s capital Jaipur Jaipur: Fully city tour of Amber Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal or even take in a Bollywood film at the Raj Mandir Ranthambore National Park (Oct May): We journey on south to this National Park, best known for it s Indian Tigers, Leopards, Striped Hyenas and many more CURRICULUM: GEOGRAPHY HISTORY LANGUAGE BIOLOGY ART RELIGIOUS STUDIES A country famous for all the wrong reasons, but this is a chance for students to not only learn about the dark side of Rwanda s past, but experience first-hand how hope and hard endeavour can transform a country. Rwanda is a shining beacon for Africa now in that regard, coupled with the stunning beauty and biodiversity of its Flora & Fauna, this is truly an inspirational country to visit. OPTION 2: February half term assist in the Rwamagana Marathon organised by Msaada OPTION 3: Students can help to raise funds to take a reconditioned laptop each to the Rwamagana school Day 6 Day 8 Day 9 Day 2 Day 4 Day 6: Day 8 Ranthambore National Park: We head in to the National Park on safari to try and spot Indian Tigers Agra: Heading north now for Agra and the world famous Taj Mahal Agra: The stunning majestic Taj Mahal awaits, along with the Agra Fort, Agra is steeped in history Delhi: We immerse ourselves in this vibrant city with a guided tour of the heartbeat of India We depart Delhi today for your flight home Arrive Kigali: Drive to Musanze (Ruhengeri), orientation walk and visit market Musanze Caves: Visit these caves created by different lava flows, followed by a walk to Diane Fossy s house, where she studied the Mountain Gorillas Heritage and Cultural Tour: Today is spent visiting local villages to learn more about their way of life and have a traditional lunch Nyungwe Forest National Park: This is the most stunning drive today, through some of Africa s most beautiful scenery Nyungwe Forest National Park: We will trek this morning to spot Chimpanzees & Colbus monkeys, Nyungwe is home to a quarter of all Africa s primates. The activities were all fantastic and the students had such an enjoyable time. We saw some beautiful sights and were led by experienced guides in Iceland.
