2 Detailed Itinerary Day 01 Antananarivo Meet by our representative on your arrival at Ivato Airport and transfer to your hotel. Day 02 Antananarivo - Andasibe Night at Tamboho Hotel - BB Meet at Dodo Travel, Tana Water front Ambodivona, at 8:00am for the departure to Andasibe,crossing large eucalyptus forests, typical landscape of upland slopes with terraced rice fields in the heart of the valleys.visit the private reserve of Vakona where it is possible to approach lemurs of its nearest that we can feed them and take photos with one on the shoulder (bananas will be provided). Possibility of a night-walk in search of the night-species which eyes shine in the dark, such as lépilémurs or microcèbes. Night at Vakona Forest Lodge - HB Day 03 Andasibe After breakfast, you visit the Analamazaotra Special Reserve where you can see Madagascan biggest alive lemurs: the Indri Indri endemic to this region. It is the largest of the lemurs (size of 65 cm and weight around 25 kg) and also the noisiest, known for its plaintive cry. Unlike all lemurs, it has no tail, having only a stump in place. The indri is also t he only monogamous species; if one spouse happens to die, the other will remain widower spending the rest of his life raising her offspring. This reserve is also the fief of 11 other species of diurnal and nocturnal lemurs, like the tawny lemur (Eulemur fulvus fulvus), the red-bellied lemur (Eulemur rubriventer), the woolly avahi (Avahi laniger), gray bamboo lemur (Hapalemur griseus) and the vari lemur or Lemur maned (black-and-white ruffed lemur). Enigmatic insects, chameleons, tenrecs and colorful birds can be observed during the guided hike in the jungle. 3 Day 04 Andasibe - Antananarivo Breakfast and departure to Ambatolona, where you ll bifurcate (track) to reach the Lake of Mantasoa, fief of the famous Jean Laborde who created this artificial lake under under the reign of Queen Ranavalo. A resort place much appreciated by local and foreigners resident in Madagascar. Lunch (own account), clode to the lake and in the afternoon, road back to Antananarivo. Night at Tamboho - BB Day 05 Antananarivo - Antsirabe After breakfast, you will take the road to the South on the famous National N 7 towards Antsirabe. Stops set off this route to appreciate the typical landscapes of the central highlands with their outside rice fields, their forest of eucalyptus, their brick-built high houses in thatched roofs Stop at the small village of Ambatolampy situated at the foot of the massif of Ankaratra, and visit a craft factory of aluminum kitchen utensils. Check in on arrival in Antsirabe, and lunch (own account). The remainder of the day at leisure, why not enjoy a rickshaw tour, for an Antsirabe city tour to discover the town and its splendid colonial houses vestiges. Day 06 Antsirabe - Ranomafana After breakfast, continue south towards Ambositra, also called the city of roses, the cradle of Malagasy wood carving art, the capital of the wooden sculptures.

After check in you may visit the research center VALBIO (own account), implanted on the site and managed by the American cooperation for the benefit of the local population; this gives you the opportunity to have a first information about the species present in the park, and the biodiversity of Ranomafana. Night at the Thermal Hotel - HB Day 07 Ranomafana (National Park) - Fianarantsoa Breakfast and depart foa a visit of Ranomafana National Park, a lush tropical rainforest with high cliffs overlooking deep gorges and very rich fauna and flora. A morning excursion (minimum 2-3 hrs walk) allows you to discover its magnificent landscapes and his luxuriant vegetation on which an important healing plants, giant 'fangeons', epiphytic orchids but also, a variety of cactus (!), Rhipsalis madascariensis, which, contrary to all cactus of the world who like the dry and hostile circles, grows in the humidity and is besides a Plant Parasite. We find 110 species of birds there among which 36 are endemic, hundreds of species of chameleons and frogs among which several are also endemic, lemurs among which two are very rare, the hapalémur with snub nose (Hapalemur simus) and the gold hapalémur or the gold lemur bamboo (Hapalemur aureus). Discovered in 1987, this latter has the peculiarity to feed essentially on shoots of an endemic variety of bamboo which contain some cyanide, which in daily quantities can kill ten human beings! Day 08 Fianarantsoa - Ranohira (Isalo) After breakfast drive to Isalo, you will pass by Ambalavao where you ll learn about the Antemoro paper, and the silk work.

5 Day 08 Fianarantsoa - Ranohira (Isalo) After breakfast drive to Isalo, you will pass by Ambalavao where you ll learn about the Antemoro paper, and the silk work. Discover the Anja reserve where cute lemurs catta (Lemur catta), called maki, live in small colonies; they are recognizable by their tail lined from 14 black and white rings. They spend a lot of time on the ground and are not too wild, thus they can be easily spotted, that it is even possible to have one on the shoulder. Lunch on the site (on your charge). Continuation southward to Ranohira. You will pass by the table-land of Horombe and will discover unmissable landscapes which will undoubtedly awaken your curiosity. Night at Relais de la Reine - HB Day 09 Ranohira (Isalo) Full day exploring the Isalo National park which spreads over 815 km². Different trails are available depending your fitness: - The Natural Swimming Pool (easy walking of +-3 hours for 6 km) and the Namaza Caves and spectacular canyon : ripped crests, white sandstone peaks, lunar trays, Bara necropolises cliffs, Sakalava tribe tombs are on the program of this magic site, as well as the "natural swimming pool", pond in turquoise waters fed by a waterfall, inviting to relax and for bathing under the curious looks of lemurs catta. - Makis Canyons and Namaza Forest (approximately 6 hours of sports walking), adding Nymphs Waterfall, Blue Swimming Pool and Black Swimming Pool (possibility of bathing). Both excursions are convenient for Bird watching (more than 50 species), harmless reptiles and endemic plants (dwarf baobabs, pandanus, pachypodium). Picnic lunch (own account). 6 Day 10 Ranohira (Isalo) - Ifaty (for those doing only the Classic South) Early breakfast and leave Isalo for the coastal town of Tulear, a green oasis emerging from the dry semidesert landscape city. 7 Day 12 - Ifaty - Tulear - Antananarivo Transfer back to Toliary towards the airport for your flight back to Antananarivo, meet on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Time permitting, visit of Handcraft market of Digue and free time to discover the city on foot. Night at Tamboho Hotel - BB Day 13 - Antananarivo. After breakfast and depending on the time of your return flight, you will discover Antananarivo and start with the visit of its colorful markets. Discovery walk from the upper Town, with its tall, narrow traditional houses, where the former palace of the 1st Ranavalona Queen, destroyed by fire in 1995 and the former Palace of the Prime Minister, a museum gathering the remains of Queen's palace. From up there, the view of the city and its hills are spectacular. Then overview of Independence Avenue, the Presidential Palace and the Lower City, with modern buildings and wide avenues. 9 Day 12 Anakao (Day excursion at Nosy Ve) Depart with a traditional pirogue towards the island of Nosy Ve, situated 3 km away in the West of Anakao. A small, flat, elongated shape island, of a deserted beach. This is a sacred site for the Vezo ethnics, where a Zebu sacrifice takes place every year. This is also a former slave exit port, the island was often used as a refuge for pirates. Remains and tombs of the French occupants of this period are still visible on the island. Today, the main attraction remain always its 4.5km long of white sands beach, and its Straw in Tail attracting ornithologists from around the world. These birds can be approached easily because they are considered as taboo.here, they live without danger in the middle of the local population. Apart from this colony of birds, Nosy Ve and its beautiful white sand beach also offer a wonderful site for snorkeling thanks to its barrier of coral reefs, which makes the island an unavoidable place for sea excursions.
