A love story Created fifteen years ago by Dominique Prat, a great fan of Madagascar, the hotel is the culmination of a love affair with the magic of the Grande ïle. The construction of the hotel involved the neighbouring villagers for many long months because the hotel employed them. The hotel is also engaged in the durable development of their environment, their power supplies and their health. Now the love story continues with the acquisition of the hotel by another lover of Madagascar, Sameer Rajabali who is leading the lodge towards a development anchored in nature, great attention to details of the highest quality, and the involvement of the villages on the peninsula. During your stay you will immediately understand what led men to this tiny corner of the world then you will join the great family of Anjajavy! Your villa Starred member since 2004 of the Relais & Châteaux association, of which it is the sole representative in Madagascar, the Lodge meets 4* superior international standards. Facing the sea, each of the 24 rosewood villas borders the main beach of the huge private estate of the Lodge.ken treasure. The simplicity of great luxury All the villas have a spacious terrace facing the sea, a living room with a salon and a bedroom. A staircase rises to the upper floor where a rest room has been created which can also serve as an office or a bedroom for children or friends. The bathroom is equipped with a large corner bath and the toilets are separate. A silent and individual air conditioning system keeps the bedroom at an ideal temperature Restaurant In the restaurant, you can choose your a la carte menu each day, created by the chef with ultra fresh products. The discreet and efficient service staff will guard your privacy, will always smile at you, and listen to your daily adventures if you wish. Floors and walls of rosewood glide from the interior to the big terrace without interruption; a private dinner can be served to you in the oasis or on the beach if you want... Gastronomy The Chef s cuisine blends well with the requirements of nature and bio products: the fish and shellfish come straight from the sea, the Madagascar prawns are simply the best in the world, the vegetables and the fruits are brought daily by the villagers, who cultivate without fertilisers or pesticides... The creativity of the Chef harmonises all these with simplicity, refinement and a light touch! Beaches As it is sometimes difficult to choose, Anjavy Lodge has laid out and cleared the secret paths which lead to the 7 creeks: you will often be alone in this world, facing the Mozambique channel. At most there might be a few fishing boats with triangular sails crossing the horizon to interrupt your gaze. As for the beach, you won t have to look far for it, the coral tsingys border it and it goes all along the lodge... The 200 metre infinity pool is filled with sea water... Can you make a choice for today? The reserve Around the lodge and farther than your legs can take you, extend the 750 hectares of the private nature reserve of Anjajavy. It hosts more than 1,800 vegetal species, mostly entirely local and many medicinal plants. The tsingy, famous ancient coral remains, scatter the forest and overlook the bay. The forest sheltering rosewoods and baobabs is home to many animal species.if you are lucky, the fish eagle of Madagascar will take you to the sea and its coral reef... Birds A paradise for birds and bird watchers alike Many beautiful, rare and endemic birds make their homes in the gardens and Reserve, making it a rewarding place for those of an ornithological persuasion. It is one of the best places to spot the regal Madagascar Fish Eagle, shy Crested Ibis, or rare Madagascar Sacred Ibis. Another frequent visitor to the gardens is the impressive Madagascar Harrier Hawk, which raise havoc amongst the lemurs and smaller birds that live in fear of its sharp talons. Keep your eye out for other birds of prey that visit the reserve, like France s Sparrowhawk and Henst s Goshawk. Even if birdwatching isn t your thing, you can t help but be enchanted by the kaleidoscope of colours and shapes of the Reserve s common birds, from the vibrant Red Fody and Souimanga Sunbird to the exotic Paradise Flycatcher and Sickle-billed Vanga. Most days crowds of jewel-green Greyheaded Lovebirds feed on the lawn while our guests enjoy their breakfast nearby.
