Here s how our Secluded Botswana safari stands above the rest: The Smallest Groups The best African safari can't happen in crowded conditions. That's why we take a maximum of just seven guests on regular departures and only eight guests (divided into two vehicles for game drives) on photo departures. Such an exceptionally small group ensures the most personalized safari experience possible, with very small camps that offer truly intimate wildlife encounters. You'll experience the utmost in service from our guides, including expert photography tips on our special photo departures. An Open "Window" Seat for Everyone We make sure you have access to unimpeded views. The private safari vehicles we charter have open sides, with no glass to interfere with your vantage point. Though our vehicles have 10 cushioned passenger seats one in front next to the driver, followed by three rows of three seats each we limit our capacity to just seven travelers in each vehicle on wildlife drives (and only four travelers per vehicle on photo departures), ensuring clear viewing (no one stuck in a center seat), maximum comfort, easy photography access and plenty of room for your gear. 7 Stay in Seclusion on Private Reserves We focus on exclusive private reserves located adjacent to national parks, where we enjoy an isolated setting and activities off-limits to park visitors such as night drives and guided walking excursions, allowing a rare chance to explore the African bush on foot. Our secluded accommodations in the Linyanti and Moremi regions are set amidst a profusion of wildlife, offering outstanding close-up photo opportunities as well as the chance to shoot photos at sunset when the light is best (other groups must be back at camp by sunset due to national park regulations). Secluded Botswana Photo Safaris are limited to eight travelers, who are then split between two vehicles with a maximum of four travelers per vehicle. Specialized 4x4 Land Rovers and Land Cruisers An essential element of this safari is our use of a combination of two specialized vehicles during different parts of the trip, facilitating unmatched wildlife viewing opportunities. Sometimes we travel in open Land Cruisers that provide a comfortable and safe ride over the sometimes uneven terrain of Botswana s desert and delta environs. We also use 4x4 Land Rovers, with a unique suspension system Page 16

17 and an open-sided, tiered seating arrangement designed to maximize wildlife viewing opportunities and comfort. It is common to have a shade net over the vehicle to provide sun protection and cover during possible intermittent rains. This protective net comes off during the cooler summer months in Botswana to allow the sun to warm us on morning and afternoon drives. Both types of vehicles have 10 cushioned passenger seats one in front next to the driver, followed by three rows of three seats each though we limit our capacity to seven travelers per vehicle on wildlife drives during our Secluded Botswana Safari, again for maximum comfort, viewing and photo opportunities. Secluded Botswana Photo Safaris accommodate a maximum of four travelers per vehicle. Vehicles have a mini fridge stocked with cold drinks, a small library with reference books and field guides, and ponchos for each traveler in case of rain. Each custom-built vehicle sports front bull bars and runner boards, as well as a full recovery kit, including spare tires and a high-lift jack. Vehicles are updated or replaced regularly and meticulously maintained to provide our guests with an outstanding safari experience. Physical Requirements Easy A safari vehicle frequently offers a bumpy ride. Wildlife drives often involve long hours of sitting and sometimes bouncing around. While we don't consider this strenuous, it can be uncomfortable and may pose a particular type of physical demand on the body. All travelers must be able to climb into and out of raised 4x4 safari trucks. Travelers must also be able to walk to and from the vehicle to our camp accommodations, sometimes walking over uneven ground or on boardwalks. Additionally, while any short walks are considered optional, you will get the most out of your safari experience if you can walk a mile or two over uneven ground without assistance. Days spent on safari can be long, as mornings typically start before daybreak and evening meals are served after sundown. Safari accommodations and vehicles are not climate controlled and, depending on the seasonality, temperatures can range from quite cold to extremely hot so it is critical that travelers come prepared. We recommend that all travelers have an adventurous spirit, as you will often enjoy the closest animal encounters. Page 17

18 Important Information About This Trip This consummate safari includes prime accommodations in Botswana s best and most remote wildlife locales. Each safari camp is small and intimate (usually accommodating just our small group), with electricity and private en suite bathrooms. After full days of exploration and thrilling wildlife encounters that our Expedition Leaders help facilitate, our comfortable and hospitable accommodations provide an additional highlight. On these safaris, itinerary changes may occur in order to take advantage of conditions unique to the season and/or to accommodate unexpected changes in water levels; therefore, itineraries may need to be rerouted or redesigned without notice. Mandatory Insurance Since the areas you will travel to on this trip are remote and wild (that's why we go there!), we require medical evacuation insurance for this program. If you decline the medical evacuation insurance coverage offered by Natural Habitat Adventures (NHA), we require that you send us documentation of the independent coverage you have selected. We recommend that your chosen independent insurance plan includes at least $250,000 in medical evacuation coverage. Please note that we will add the cost of NHA's medical evacuation policy (currently $48 per person) to your tour invoice until you provide our office with proof of coverage including your insurance company's name, phone number and your individual policy number. Thank you for understanding that our policy exists exclusively in the interest of our guests' safety.
