You should have sightings of wildebeest, zebra, kudu, tsessebe, and elephants. There are stable populations of large predators like lion, cheetah, spotted hyena, and even some African wild dogs. From time to time you can also see leopard. This is also a good area to see roan and sable antelope. Head out on a walking safari or ply the waters of the Khwai River in a mokoro. A mokoro is a traditional canoe that glides silently through shallow water, allowing you to drift upon some very interesting creatures such as aquatic antelopes like lechwe, waterbuck and sitatunga. This Linyanti concession is twenty times the size of Manhattan, yet only forty people can stay during any night of the year It is one of the most remote and exclusive pockets of Botswana. Together with the Chobe riverfront, the Linyanti is home to the highest density of African elephants in the world. The Linyanti is not just for ticking off major species, it also has a knack of delivering lesser spotted wildlife, such as that long searched for wild dog or a rare bush pig. This is the place where wildlife documentaries are made. The Linyanti has riverine woodlands, open woodlands, towering mopane and leadwood forests, as well as flood plains, open grasslands and waterholes. Somalisa Expeditions water hole is a popular wildlife stop. Elephants may saunter up to the swimming pool for a refreshing sip. For the humans, drinks and meals are always al fresco, sometimes with the elephants as dinner guests. When you re ready to leave camp, enjoy wildlife viewing in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe s biggest reserve. As a highlight, Hwange is a sanctuary for wild dogs. It is estimated that less than 7,000 remain in the wild. There is much to see as Hwange is home to more than 100 mammal species and nearly 500 species of birds. Zambezi Expeditions is situated on the banks of the Zambezi, a perfect setting for both land and river exploration. Within Mana Pools you will encounter the country s biggest concentration of hippo and crocodiles and large dry season mammal populations of zebra, elephant, roan and Cape buffalo. AGLOW provides food and care for the elderly throughout Maun, making house visits and spending time with them.
