Embark from Johannesburg to Madikwe Private Game Reserve, land of the Big Five as well as high wild dog concentrations and excellent cheetah. Next to Marataba Private Reserve, which is a little-known area that showcases both excellent wildlife, including great rhino and predators, along with unparalleled scenery. Continue to the Sabi Sand and Lion Sands Private Game Reserve with world-renowned animal populations, ending in colorful Cape Town. DAY 1: JANUARY 11, JOHANNESBURG Arrive Johannesburg today. After completing all customs and immigrations formalities and baggage claim, exit into the arrivals hall where you will be met by a Natural Habitat Adventures representative holding a signboard with your name. They will assist you to your hotel shuttle for your transfer to the hotel. At the Southern Sun O.R. Tambo Airport Hotel, guest rooms are spacious, warmly decorated and offer a comfortable haven for international travelers. Though the hotel is located so conveniently near the airport, it is designed to offer a peaceful night s sleep without disturbances from the airport or nearby traffic. Guests may choose from a wide selection of room types, all furnished to include every modern convenience and amenity. The popular Bernoulli s Restaurant has earned high praise for its exceptional service and high-quality international cuisine. Overnight Southern Sun Airport Hotel (breakfast included) DAYS 2 4: JANUARY 12 14, MADIKWE GAME RESERVE Make your way to the Federal Air terminal today for your scheduled charter to Madikwe (approximate flight times 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm). In Madikwe you will be met at the airstrip for a short transfer to your lodge. Madikwe Safari Lodge features three distinct safari accommodations Lelapa Lodge has 12 rooms and is ideal for families. Each of the rooms has a soft, neutral color palette and affords the warmth of a grand fireplace for cool evenings and a private plunge pool for escaping the daytime heat. Family rooms with bunk beds for kids may be available. The main areas of the three lodges are entirely independent of one another, lending multiple relaxation and dining spaces for guest enjoyment and allowing couples and families their own environments. The ECO-HOUSE is the perfect place for kids to stay entertained between other activities. With animal artifacts, bones, nests, as well as a pet snake and tarantula, kids can learn about they ve seen in the bush and engage more closely with nature. Madikwe Game Reserve is famed as one of South Africa s hidden gems. This 185,000-acre reserve tucked against the border of Botswana is a malaria-free wildlife area, boasting the Big Five lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and black rhino along with white rhino, cheetah, wild dog and unique antelopes like the gemsbok and springbok, typically found in the more arid Kalahari semi-desert. Lying within a transitional zone that marries the lowveld of Kruger Park and the semi-arid Kalahari thornveld, Madikwe supports a broad range of wildlife to impress even the most seasoned safarigoer. Activities at Madikwe Safari Lodge include morning, afternoon and evening wildlife drives, guided nature walks in the dry season when the grass is low (subject to minimum age requirements), bush picnics, and the ECO-HOUSE, where kids and adults can both engage in the wonders of the bush up close. Overnights Madikwe Safari Lodge (full board basis all meals included) DAYS 5 7: JANUARY 15 17, MARATABA PRIVATE RESERVE Today you will have a private, air-conditioned transfer to Marataba Game Reserve (approximately hours by good, paved road). Marataba is a hidden gem in an area where the scenery rivals the incredible wildlife viewing. The lodge features 15 safari tents made of draped, khaki canvas and local stone. The tents are split on either side of the main lodge, with spacious and beautiful lounges, a small library, the gift shop, a formal dining room, and fireplaces for cool evenings. Expansive decks and a sprawling lawn look

3 out toward the Waterberg massif. Meals are served al fresco on the lawn as much as possible, and for great reason! Each of the 15 tents features double sinks and an egg-shaped bathtub and indoor shower, as well as heating and cooling for the varied seasons. The tents are perched along the winding river, each with a deck overlooking the mountains, often with elephant or giraffe towering in the distance. A central swimming pool is great for relaxing midday. Marataba Private Reserve offers exceptional animal viewing, with both mammals and birds in abundance. The Big Five lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, black rhino and white rhino as well as greater kudu, impala, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck and spotted hyena can be seen. Small carnivores like bat-eared fox and jackals also occur on the reserve. With the continual backdrop of the Waterberg Mountains, photography can be breathtaking. Wildlife drives occur in the early morning and late afternoon and evening. Being in a private reserve, you can search for nocturnal species after dusk and go off-road to find more elusive animals. Walks are a highlight at Marataba, where giraffe, rhino and other animals can be tracked on foot with armed guides and trackers (subject to minimum age requirements). The Miss Mara is Marataba s boat, providing opportunities for water safaris on the Matlabas River, where elephants snorkel and waterbirds flock. Overnights Marataba Safari Lodge (full board basis all meals included) DAYS 8 10: JANUARY 18 20, SABI SAND RESERVE Today you will have a drive back to Johannesburg (approximately 3.5-hour drive) and an onward scheduled flight to Kruger's Skukuza Airport (scheduled flight not included in trip cost contact our Air Desk at for a quote). At Skukuza Airport, you will be collected for a short drive to the camp. On the banks of the Sabie River, River Lodge offers a sumptuous respite from the Lowveld heat, shaded by ancient trees and protective thatch. Completely remodeled to exceptionally high standards in 2010, the 20 luxurious bedrooms feature contemporary décor in tranquil shades of cream and beige. All are air-conditioned with ceiling fans. En suite bathrooms have sleek white double vanity basins and stand-alone bathtubs with a view. Private viewing decks offer a quick immersion in nature. Waterhole hides get you close to wildlife without being seen. Special hippo tours observe these animals in their natural environs in the Sabie River, where crocodile are also frequently spotted. Upon arrival, you will be met by a Natural Habitat representative holding a signboard with your name and transferred to your hotel in the heart of Cape Town. More Quarters is a charming hamlet that comprises 15 one-bedroom apartments of 700 sq ft, three two-bedroom apartments of 915 sq ft and Redcliffe House, which is a four-bedroom, 2,850 sq ft private home with its own pool. The apartments are situated on neighboring cobblestone cul de sacs, with security gates and private entrances. While boasting privacy and independence, there is also a lovely main house with a lounge, fireplace, library and breakfast room along with a 24-hour concierge and security. The second floor breakfast room has grand windows with 180 degree views.
