1 Adventure Camp Equipment List 2 hats: a ski cap for staying warm at night; a wide brim or visor for sun protection 4 pairs athletic socks (white or rag wool are best; polypropylene ok) 2 pair shorts 1 pair long pants (cotton chinos, wool, painter s pants, or sweatpants) 2 short-sleeved T-shirts 1 long-sleeved lightweight shirt (for protection from the sun) 1 long-sleeved heavy pullover shirt 1 nylon windbreaker 1 pair long fleece or polypropylene or wool pants 1 pile\fleece jacket or wool sweater underwear (sufficient number to be changed every other day) flashlight and extra batteries small notebook and pencil camera (optional) toilet kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap (only Bonners or Ivory), comb - All items must be made of natural ingredients and biodegradable. bathing suit lightweight rain gear (pants and parka very important) personal first aid kit (Band-Aids, Solarcaine or Noxema, chapstick, adhesive tape, Suntan lotion, bug repellent, Wash-n-dry, small container of baby or medicated powder) small towel or bandanna sunglasses 3 large heavy trash bags 3-4 gallon size zip-lock bags Clothing and equipment to be worn and used before and after the trip may be brought and will be stored in a safe, dry place at camp (bring an extra storage bag). Hiking and Rockclimbing component: Hiking Boots (sturdy leather, 6-8 in height, well broken in, Vibram soles, treated with water proofing; not work boots) Rockclimbing component: International Mountain Climbing School Permission slip Canoe component: 2 pairs sneakers (one to be worn canoeing and ready to get soaked and dirty, the other to be kept dry and worn around the campsites) Gloves cotton are ok, handball gloves are best (optional) Duffel bag or hockey bag Mountain Bike component: Mountain Bike in very good condition (optional) Do not bring any personal items that are not on this list. Any extra personal gear detracts from space needed by the entire group for the welfare of all. The trip leader will determine which extra items you may take if you bring extras with you to camp.

2 Provided by Calumet: If you d prefer to bring your own light-weight sleeping bag or any of the following equipment you may do so. Additional Information: All items on the equipment list are essential. Please make sure to bring all the equipment in the form in which it is described. Calumet ALWAYS has the itinerary of the trips and we are able to contact the trip should it become necessary to do so. Cell phones are sent with the leaders of all trips. Your trip will be lots of fun! There will be many opportunities to get to know your leaders and other participants. Each day includes time for sharing, personal reflection, and spiritual growth. Safety is a big concern of ours. Calumet staff is trained by the Appalachian Mountain Club for both wilderness leadership skills and first aid. When swimming is involved, the staff has been Red Cross Certified. Life jackets are worn at all times while canoeing. The use of tobacco, alcoholic beverages, or drugs (other than prescribed by a physician) is not allowed. Refusal to cooperate will be cause for dismissal from the trip. Parents will be contacted to pick you up. We are glad you have chosen to come to Calumet s Adventure Camp. We look forward to seeing at camp!

5 PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT, RELEASE AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK (Please print) Name Date If under 18, Name of Guardian Street City State Zip Telephone Number In consideration of the services of International Mountain Climbing School, Inc., their agents, owners, officers, volunteers, participants, employees, and all other persons or entities acting in any capacity on their behalf (hereinafter collectively referred to as IMCS ), I hereby agree to release, indemnify, and discharge IMCS, on behalf of myself, my children, my parents, my heirs, assigns, personal representative and estate as follows: 1. I acknowledge that rock climbing, ice climbing and alpine mountaineering entails known and unanticipated risks which could result in physical or emotional injury, paralysis, death, or damage to myself, to property, or to third parties. I understand that such risks simply cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential qualities of the activity. The risks include, among other things: the hazards of walking on uneven terrain and slips and falls; being struck by rockfall, icefall, or other objects dislodged or thrown from above; the risk of injuries caused by other climbers; the use of climbing ropes and equipment; the forces of nature, including lightening, weather changes, and avalanche; the risks of falling off the rock, mountain, or into a crevasse; the risks of exposure to insect bites; the risk of altitude and cold including hypothermia, frostbite, acute mountain sickness, cerebral and pulmonary edema; my own physical condition, and the physical exertion associated with this activity. Furthermore, IMCS employees have difficult jobs to perform. They seek safety, but they are not infallible. They might be unaware of a participant s fitness or abilities. They might misjudge the weather or other environmental conditions. They may give incomplete warnings or instructions, and the equipment being used might malfunction. 2. I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all of the risk existing in this activity. My participation in this activity is purely voluntary, and I elect to participate in spite of the risks. 3. I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless IMCS from any and all claims, demands, or causes of actions, which are in any way connected with my participation in this activity or my use of IMCS s equipment or facilities, including any such claims which allege negligent acts of omissions of IMCS. 4. Should IMCS or anyone acting on their behalf, be required to incur attorney s fees and costs to enforce this agreement, I agree to indemnify and hold them harmless for all such fees and costs. 5. I certify that I have adequate insurance to cover any injury or damage I may cause or suffer while participating, or else I agree to bear the costs of such injury or damage myself. I further certify that I am willing to assume the risk of any medical or physical condition I may have. 6. In the event that I file a lawsuit against IMCS, I agree to do so solely in the state of New Hampshire, and I further agree that the substantive law of New Hampshire shall apply in that action without regard to the conflict of law rules of that state.
