It is located in the Indian Ocean near the islands of Madagascar and Maurice. Its inhabitants harmoniously cohabitate with four main religions that are Christianity, Hinduism, Islamism, and Buddhism. Key figures about the 2018 Adventure Racing World Championship From November 4 th until 16 th 75 teams are expected to participate, including the worldwide best teams / 20 nations represented Team composition: 4 running including at least one woman Race format: from 110h (4,4 days) to 200h (8 days) Disciplines: trek, biking, kayak, packraft, speleology, ropes, MTB, rafting... Distance: the full course is 400km ish Race HQ and organization center: the Corail village at L Ermitage-Les- Bains (Saint-Gilles Les Bains) Price money: $ will be divided and allocated to the first 5 teams Institutional local partners: Department and Region of Reunion Island, Ile de La Réunion Tourisme (IRT), Saint-Paul and Salazie municipalities.

Saint-Paul, finish line location Prologue and start location: Hell-Bourg The Adventure Racing World Championship start will be given the 8 th of November in Hell-Bourg (Salazie municipality) in a wonderful landscape formed by the Cirque de Salazie and its lush vegetation. The day before, 7 th November, the prologue will takes place in the streets of this past thermal station, now listed as one of the most beautiful French villages. Joined by a reunionese child, each team will play a typical and local game: the «Kours la rou». This prologue will determine the start order of the teams on 8 th November in the morning. Finish line at the Village de Corail, Saint-Paul municipality MTB, trek, kayak, packraft, canyoning or caving 300 racers, whose best of the Adventure Racing World Series (ARWS), will progress continuously and do a serie of sections until Saint-Paul, most ancient municipality of the island, where they will find the finish line, next to the lagoon. Fist historical capital of Reunion Island, the city is extended from the West Coast to the Maïdo and the Cirque de Mafate, will be the final point of this nonstandard, sport and human race.

4 Accommodation Village de Corail (Head Quarter of the race) With 129 studios distributed in all equiped bengalows, the Village de Corail offers many services and activities. It s possible to go to the restaurant, to the bar, enjoy activities, the swimming pool, the beach which is quite close, there is something to do for everyone. Located in a park, you can go for a walk while staying within the village. Racers, staff members and VIP have a special rate. 5 Gîte La Mandoze This Creole case that can welcome 30 people in dormitories (common sanitaries for everybody) will offer a typical and warm reunionese atmosphere. There is a restaurant where you can eat specialities with the manager, Patrick, who will not hesitate to play music and local instruments and share this moment with you. The Piton de la Fournaise This wonderful active volcano is located in the heart of Reunion Island, it is meter-high. 3. The Garden of Eden The Garden of Eden is a magnificent 2.5-hectare botanical garden home to more than 700 plant species. A two-hours walk through the garden is a good way to discover the wide diversity of tropical fauna and flora, including some endemic species of Reunion Island. There is a 5-minutes walk between the village Corail and the Garden of Eden.

7 The Piton des Neiges It is the highest point in the Indian Ocean. This 3,071-meter shield volcano has been inactive for 120 centuries and it now challenges the bravest and the most audacious athletes. Contrary to what its name suggests, this volcano is not covered with snow Grand Etang Grand Etang is the largest natural lake on Reunion Island and it is surrounded by lush green vegetation. This natural lake is 1km long and 500m wide. The best way to go there is not the walk, it is equestrian riding. 6. The cirque de Mafate In the heart of the mountains, the Cirque de Mafate can be seen from a few crests of the island. This caldera is accessible by walk and by helicopter since there is literally no road to go there. Along the walking way, you will discover the flora and fauna which lead to this remote place. Since this place used to be the hideout of slaves, its remoteness was considered as an asset rather than a disadvantage. This place is truly magical!
