Ochils Paragliding Club Christmas Ceilidh, 16th December Tickets for this event are selling well sold so far, but there are still some left if you want to have some fun and help the paragliding club buy a Landrover. 7pm to 1am in the Devonvale Hall, Tillicoultry. There will be a quality buffet, live ceilidh band and a raffle. Tickets 20. There will be funding available for Scottish based pilots, and that will come from the SHPF. 2 Aerotow AGM Report The Scottish Aerotow Club AGM was held in the Lion and Unicorn pub at 7pm on Sunday 3rd December. As usual there was lots of idle hang gliding chit-chat, but the main points from the meeting were as follows: The club is expecting to make a small profit of around 150 by the end of the year, bringing the club funds up from 1650 to We are looking at selling the XL tug to keep our costs down and give ourselves a more secure financial position. We will get a new permit for the 912 before the start of the new season. We are planning to promote hang gliding by putting posters up in places like Tiso's and doing more dual aerotows. We also hope to visit Portmoak and Perth to showcase hang gliding. Finally, we're planning some fun activities 2007, including another Aerotow Competition, and hopefully a heli-lift with gliders to the top of Ben Nevis. At the moment it's only a pipe-dream, but hopefully it will actually happen! If anyone wants a copy of the minutes, let me know. Get back out there when it's windy! What to do when it's not flyable according to X-Sail ltd Now that the windy season is upon us maybe your club members could do with an extra string to their hang gliding bows. We used to run a paragliding school ( Parapente Ecosse) for 14 years, so we understand how frustrating the weather can be, and the need to make the best of your valuable free time. The challenges are going to be unique and exciting but the great thing about them is that whether the teams competing win or lose the challenges will be an awesome experience. Not only that, anyone from 18 to 80 can take part. From our point of view we're interested to see the team dynamics and how a team works together on the show to solve a problem and how they progress through the series of programmes. Naturally there will be a winning team and that team will receive a very special prize.
