3 Kent Firebike Expo 2018 Plans are underway for the Kent Firebike Team to host a motorcycle show at their Headquarters near Rochester. The show will be in conjunction with KAMG and EKAM. The date has been set as Saturday 14 th July. Do you know anyone that would like to exhibit (for free) at the show. If so please let Tina Underwood or Tony Young know ASAP so that our planning can progress. KAMG Day Trip to France Sat 19 th May Visiting Ypres - open to all KAMG members. Catching the 0820 Eurotunnel train from Folkestone Returning on the 1820 from Calais. Please book your tickets and then book your place on Tracker to receive further information. Ian Burchell. Thanks to A2 Motorcycles for recently hosting a motorcycle maintenance evening for KAMG members, and to Paul Aspinall for liaising with them. Paul and I then spent some time at A2 last Saturday on an open day chatting to customers about KAMG and promoting the free taster rides. For some time now Christine Botley has been responsible for the club night raffle - and a jolly good job she has been doing too! She has decided to hand over the reins to someone else - could that person be you? Please let me know.

4 I am running another Observers Workshop on Monday 30 th April at the Inn on the Lake Hotel, from 7pm until 9.30pm. Intended primarily for Observers working towards the National qualification but open to all of the Observer Corps. Organisers Wanted We have 2 events in the calendar requiring a KAMG member to take on and organise. Sunday 13th May - a Green Badge Holders ride out. Thursday 17 th May - A Fish and Chip run. Times, meeting venues, routes etc to be determined by the organiser. If this is the first time you have volunteered to arrange such an activity then help will be available. No organiser - no event! The first Kent Fire and Rescue Service Firebike Day of 2018 takes place at Brands Hatch racetrack on Monday 23 rd April from 0830am. KAMG supplies Observers to carry out the assessed rides and slow riding skills exercise. Observers, if you can help please contact Tina Underwood and let her know or book on the KAMG Tracker system. These are important roles that do need volunteers to help things run smoothly and share the workload. An invite from Frank Ojo - a KAMG member Vosges and Black Forest trip. Monday 10 th of September 0650 to Sunday 16 th of September 1950hrs. The first day is the usual motorway work to a Hotel near Verdun. The next day is France into Germany where we set up base at a hotel for a few nights. This gives members the opportunity to explore roads and views in the Black Forest area. Then its on to the Vosges mountains in France. Based here for a couple of nights we can explore the roads to and from the Grand Ballons before returning to UK. I can not give a cost of the trip at the moment, but I personally do not need a 5 star hotel preferring a reasonable priced 3 star with either its own restaurant or one nearby. There is the Euro tunnel crossing and peage on the first and last day with entertaining roads in between. This trip would suite a confident rider on a bike that has a reasonable fuel range and pillions are obviously welcome. This advert is just to gauge interest to see if it is worth me contacting Hotels etc. I would need definite yes I can make that by the start of May and I will only secure a hotel room once I have been supplied with a Eurotunnel reference number. frank.ojo@blueyonder.co.uk

6 Regular information and stuff! IDCAMs Held on Saturdays, at the Inn on the Lake Hotel. Starting at Costs 10 at present - includes an observed ride after lunch (bring your own please!). The first step to becoming an advanced Motorcyclist. Contact Tony Young at; idcam@kamg.org.uk Machine Control Days Held on Saturdays, now at Ebbsfleet International train station car park D, starting at Costs 10 at present. Practise slow riding and machine control in a conflict free area and environment, around a number of exercises, with Observers on hand to help. Contact Jim Pullen at; mcd@kamg.org.uk Our regalia stand has a collection of KAMG clothing. Crew neck shirts are 12 Polo shirts are reduced to 15 from 17 Sweatshirts are 20. Fleeces are 26 (1/4 or full zip) These are all good quality garments in various colours with an embroidered KAMG logo. A lot of club stuff is now circulated via Facebook. For links go to our website use the tab "Communication" The club Facebook page is KAMG Club Nights The last Thursday of every month (except December) at the Kentagon Clubroom, Brands Hatch racetrack. Club business starts at 8.15pm. Then we usually have a guest speaker or other activity. We look forward to seeing you there. Visitors/guests welcome to call in and see us. If you have any business with committee members, such as regalia sales, booking an IDCAM, joining the club etc. please sort this out before 8.15pm so that we can give our guest speakers the quiet room they deserve (and expect).
