5 There are a variety of independent shops and facilities in Beer and Seaton, with a broader selection in the nearby towns of Honiton and Sidmouth including a Waitrose Supermarket at Sidmouth. Exeter is very well known as the major regional centre for the whole south west and has an extensive range of shops, restaurants and theatres. The nearby town of Axminster is HQ for River Cottage and has an excellent Canteen and Deli. Colyton Grammar School, approximately 3 miles away, has been rated as one of the top Grammar Schools in the country and there are first-class private schools in Sidmouth, Exeter, Tiverton and Taunton. For the golfing enthusiast, there are courses at Seaton, Lyme Regis, Honiton, Sidmouth and Woodbury, as well as opportunities for sailing from the Axe Yacht Club, Seaton and Beer Sailing Club.
